Plastic date set

I have a date for my tummy tuck...May 24.  I see Dr Huse next week then leave on vacation the 16th and return the 23rd then surgery the 24th so it will be busy the next few weeks.  I am excited but the thought of wearing the compression garmet in the hot summer time doesn't sound great.  Did it seem like a pain to anyone else?

Yeah Terry!! So excited for you. I wanna do it so bad, just not sure when I'll be able to. Did you decide to do just the panni or doing the tummy tuck too? Will you be staying in the hospital over night?

went ahead and did the care credit thing and getting the TT done.  Wasn't going to but then finally got it in my head that I shud if I could at all.  Dr Bergman is doing it and I will be staying overnight at the Carmel Surgery Center, not the actual hospital.

Mom and I are going on a bus tour trip to Savannah GA leaving the 16th and getting back the 23rd, then surgery the 24th.  I am hoping 2 weeks off work will be enough.  I haven't worked there long enough to build up vacation time so it will be 3 weeks with no pay.

I am so happy for you. I so wish I could have had plastics. I think that i would have done a better job of fighting regain if  could have completed my journey. I know it's never too late.if you need anything while you are up here I am only a phone call away. 

Congrats Terry....Dr. Huse talked plastics with me last week went I went. I am so thrilled to be thinking of that now. Please let me know how it goes and how you are doing. I will be praying for your speedy recovery!

Thanks girls for the encouragement.  I first thought I wouldn't get it done but then got to thinking about the insurance knowing it would pay for the panni was a huge help.  I got to keep Lyn's insurance which is great for 2 years after he died then will have to look for some other insurance.  So I decided if I was going to get it done, I'd better do it now.

My weight is still 185-190 but Dr thought I was ready, in fact Dr Bergman didn't even mention losing more and Dr Huse encouraged me to do it.  Seems like my weight has just stabilized although I have had about a 7-9 pound gain since Lyn died.  I hate cooking for myself and find myself going thru fast food or grabbing something quick instead of cooking.  I think this will give me some encouragement also to get back on track.

I go Wednesday to see Dr Huse for a check up then surgery on the 24th.

Terry do you know what your out of pocket cost will be after your insurance pays for the panni part?   I am saving my penny's because I know I will need the full TT.  Our insurance just changed so I am not sure how easy it will be for me to be approved as I don't have any skin issues but I intend to see Dr Bergman when I am ready.

Jeannie--it will be around 3700-3800 in that area, I will have to get my papers out to get the exact amount . That covers the surgery center, lipo, TT, garment and basically everything.  I also am going to use the care credit.  My insurance was not only the skin issues but mentioned if the pannus hung down a certain amount that would cover it also.  Don't give up on it, I am sure Dr Bergman will do all she can to get it covered.  I think she is awesome.  I have this roll of skin over my pants that the panni would not have taken care of.  I carried most of my weight in my abdomen so she did not think the panni would near give me the results I would want.

Congrats! on ur surgery date and good luck, I went to see doctor bergman yesterday and im starting the process to have a full tummy tuck went thru care credit also and jeannie my out of pocket after insurance will be 3886.00 thats for the facitlity and the garmet and anethesia everything good luck. I got things i got to get done for dr bergman then they will send everything off to insurance wish me good luck..
