Hi, I know we all have lots of different insurances and coverage varies.  But, in general, does insurance pay 100% of the rny surgery?  I had a hysterectomy and another big surgery and never had to pay a penny for a copay.  I'm just wondering if this is the general rule???  Probably not, but just wanted to hear your experiences and approx co-pay amounts.  Thank you!!  Laura

Our annual co-pay is $1800.00........not great but we've had alot worse! If you have no co-pay you are VERY lucky!

Completely depends on your insurance... The only thing I paid for through the entire process was the Psych Eval... Everything else was covered 100%.... It is amazing how I no longer mind paying over $200 a month in premiums!

Depends on your insurance.  Fastest way to find out is call them and ask them what your copay is for surgery.  I had Cigna and they told me what my copay would be, how much I still had to meet on my out of pocket before they covered the RNY.  Don't forget about your coinsurance though.. that would be your 20% or 10% depending on whether you have 80/20 or 90/10.  BUT call your insurance and they should be able to give you ALL this info.
