Muscle weighs more than fat.. you are probably looking better though and your clothes are probably fitting differently..

Shake it up.. do cardio one day and toneing the next.. make sure you are getting your protien, and water in...

Linda is only partially correct when she said muscle weighs more than fat. If you have 16 oz of marshmallows and 16 oz of steak. They are both 1 pound. The same goes for our bodies. 16 oz or 1 pound is still 1 pound. Muscle is more dense meaning they are tighter together similar to the steak and fat is similar to marshmallows fluffy, so if the scale is not moving you need to measure yourself. If that hasn't moved either then you have more muscle to take up the same amount of space making the muscle be more dense so you have lots more muscle which in turn weighs more. But this is a good thing because it takes more energy to fuel those muscles which raises your BMR so make sure you continue the course and measure your food and watch your portion sizes. Sometimes changing just one thing can jumpstart the metabolism enough to start losing again. Change your exercise routine or add more weight, that may be what is needed to get it going again.

A. Throw the scale out...if not out, put it in the closet and forget it's there.

B. Are you eating enough? If you're not eating enough your body will say "pfffft I'm not losin anything cause i'm starving!" and make sure you're getting your protein and vitamins...

C. Are you stressed about something? (other than your weight loss?) Stress can cause the body to slow down.

D. Switch up your routine. If you're doing all cardio, take a couple days and do strength training instead. Or vice versa.

All in all, it's likely just a stall, and you're probably still losing fat. Go by how your clothes feel, not the number on the scale. Don't give up...we all get to that "i wanna rip my hair out" stage.

I am not as far out as you are... However, have hit a few stalls....

I have changed my diet a little at those times... For me it was as simple as going to a more lean protein... or even different liquid protein source....

I also added more water- which made a big difference...

The most effective way I beat stalls?  I change the direction of my workout wagon.  I work with 2 personal trainers.... They both suggest shocking the system.  If you use the treadmill and bike... hope on the elliptical or Arc Trainer or stair master... When doing weights... look at the weights that work the smaller muscles.  Right now both of my trainers are BIG on burning out my muscles in the workouts.... I literally go until I cannot do one more.... then I do one more...
