Hi,

I am new to the Indiana boards.  I was wondering if Dr. Inman does revision surgery, now.  I had a VGB in 1986 and reversed i*****  So technically, I don't have a VGB anymore.  I was reading some old post and seen were someone said that Dr. Inman does not do revisions.  I did call Dr. Inman's office and the lady I talked to said she does revisions, now.  I would greatly appreciate any input.

Thanks!

Not sure if she does, but I know Dr. Huse does and he is in her same office.  I can't imagine that she wouldn't do them.  But I dont have any personal knowledge to share.  Sorry.

I hope all goes well for you!

Huge hugz,
Tracy

if you don't mind me asking, why did you have it reversed almost 10 years later??

Hi Cybil,

I had it reversed because I threw up constantly for 8 years.  I had lost 90 pounds then all of a sudden I started throwing up everything I would eat or drink.  I finally said that's enough one Mother's day weekend - I had to go to the ER because I was still throwing up over something I ate 2 days ago.  The food was stuck and I had to have a non-sedated EGD to unstop the VBG.  I got tired of be sick all the time so, I found me a surgeon at University of Kentucky and had my reversal.

Hi Cybil,

As far as I can tell the VBG was stapled and then had a band on my stomach too.  So everything was getting stuck in the band.  After they took the band and staples out I didn't have any more trouble.  I will never have anything with a band on it again.  I was miserable all those years and I thought it was my fault until, I started reading other people's responses on the VBG boards.  After I found out others were having the same problem as I had I didn't feel like a failure anymore.  I so am ready for the DS so I can shed this weight once and for all.

Thanks for listening and caring,

Dr Margaret Inman did my RNY and I love her.  She is very good.  I choose her because she was recommended to me by an aquaintance.  I looked into her and found she has been doing this for more than a few years and was highly rated.  I am very happy with my choice.

I am only one, But still, I am one.  I cannot do everything, but still I can do something.  And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do
the something that I can do.

Hey...

Yes Dr. Inman does revision. I had the VSG wirh Dr. Cacucci 2 years ago. Dr. Inman made my VSG to a DS witch is the second step of the DS. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago.  Also she told me she did revision.

On the journey to losing weight, your friends & family will be the first people to try to knock you off. They do this not out spite, but out of being convicted and knowing they should do the same. It's easier to put someone down for doing the right thing, than for them to actually do it. So at your next family re-union or wherever you are eat your chicken and broccoli and smile when they make jokes about you, they are jealous!
