What is the best protein shakes to get?

I see you're set for surgery next month.  Don't buy large quantities because what you like before surgery might not be what you like afterwards.

Immediately post op I lived on the big glass bottles of Isopure.  (I got them at GNC).  They gave me this at Clarian North while still in the hospital.  40 grams in a bottle, and protein is critical post op.

I'm almost 3 years out and I still use Unjury.  You can order a few samples from them to see what you like.  I like to mix different fruit flavors into the vanilla one but it might be a while before you're ready for mixing anything extra in there.  I like the vanilla & chocolate best.  Strawberry is okay... but I did not like the chicken broth one...

Good luck on your surgery!  It's a wild ride!

At this stage of the game, I would go around to the different sites and get sample packs of different flavors. Don't use them til after surgery, cause what tastes good now, may taste like mud later.
unjury.com & chikenutrition.com offer free samples
Nasua Nutrition has samples you can buy in multiple flavors from popular brands: http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/index.php?target=produc ts&product_id=436

bariatricfusion.com has samples you can purchase in all their flavors, as does bariatriceating.com and bariatricadvantage.com

You may want to find an "unflavored" that's tolerable to mix with soups etc cause, sometimes a shake is just tooooo much, especially right after surgery.

I recently went to www.chikenutrition.com through a link from this website and got a free sample of all five of their protein shakes.  I've tried 4 of the 5 so far and loved all the but stawberry.  It was a little mild in flavor compared to the banana, chocolate and orange cream flavors.  It didn't taste bad, just not as flavorful as the others.  I haven't tried the vanilla yet.

If the link above doesn't work for you watch the adds at the top and hit the Chike one when it comes up.  I agree with everyone else though.  Save all your samples until after surgery.  Anesthesia and major sugery mess with your taste buds!

I personally like the ones from Bariatric Advantage and I've been getting the Isopure and Cytosport pre-mixed from GNC.  I also have some Whey Free unflavored, but it's not my favorite and it doesn't mix as well as the BA.

One thing, if you plan on mixing from powders blender bottles are awesome!

ETA:  If you go to GNC and plan on getting most of your stuff through there join the Gold Club and you get 20% off for the first week of every month.  Also, most stores will give you a case price on Isopure and Cytosport if you get 12 or more at a time.
