An update on me

Hello everyone! Although I am not a regular poster I am a regular "lurker" and come almost every day for the support and encouragement I get from reading all the terrific posts here!
Thought I would just give a little update on me. My surgery (RNY) was Sept 30, My weight on surgery day was 277 and my BMI was 41.5. As of today, my weight is 205 and my BMI is 31! Omg, if anyone and I mean anyone would have told me that the weight would come off so smoothly and that I would feel so much better ( and I know lots of people did) I wouldn't believe it! BUT I do..I feel terrific! So much more energy, just overall seems like my whole outlook has improved and I am motivated to start making other changes in my life.
At the age of 49, I have decided to go back to school and pursue my masters degree in nursing. I have been accepted to the fall class at a local university so life is about to become that much busier. I really feel like without my RNY and the wonderful support of the bariatric center here in Evansville and this board I would not feel as uplifted and gifted as I do now!
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! My debt to you all is unmeasurable! God bless you all!

I am so thrilled for you and pray your journey continues to go so well. You have given yourself the best gift ever. I had RNY 9 months ago and feel so wonderful! I started at 315 and want to lose down to 150.

Congrats as well on going back to school. I will be 47 this year and am working on my bachelor's at ISU. I feel like this was the best time in my life to do it and so I am walking down the college road as well.

Many blessings to you

Kristie

Congrats Vanessa on your "new life."  I don't post often either, but I read almost every day.  My lap RNY was 5/07.  It's hard to believe it has been almost three years.  My life has drastically changed as well since weight loss.  In May I will be graduating with my BS.  I would never have considered going back to school at 300+ lbs.  Best wishes as you pursue your dreams.
