 Hi,

I was supposed to see Dr Mattar in Feb, but had bronchitis and was too sick to go.  I am so excited/nervous about going today.  My BMI is just under 40, so worried about getting approved through Fed BCBS as I don't think I have any co-mobidities except maybe joint pain.

Thanks for all the support - I feel even if I don't get approved, it is still a learning process and hopefully someway I will get weight off.

Hope everyone is doing well - Lynn

 Hi,

It went really well.  My BMI  was 41 - so for insurance purposes I am thrilled!

How was the liver reduction diet.  I have to lose 15# before surgery and he said they submit to insurance at that time, not now, but they will use yesterday's weight, etc.

I am hoping to get the sleeve - what procedure are you having done.

I really liked Dr Mattar as well.  I am excited for you to have your surgery on St Patrick's Day!

Let me know how you are doing.

Hi Lynn,

I am so silly I think you went to see Dr. Matter on Monday and I went on Tuesday!  Anyway I am glad that things went well for you.  I love Dr Matter, I think he is honest, sincere and very sweet.  I know several folks who have had surgery done by him and they all are doing well and love him too.  Things went fine at my meeting and so I am ready to go for St Patricks Day (I think I am going to paint my toenails green for the occasion!)  The Liver reduction diet isnt as bad as you might think.  If you have ever done low carb it will be a breeze for you.  I like it that you get yogurt (thats a treat to me) and also the fiber one looks and kinda gross I liked it too. (Probably because of cold milk /splenda combo.   Please feel free to keep in touch and let me know if I can be of any help to ya.

Hugs

Hi lynn,
I was wondering about you and your appointment. I had my surgery done on Feb 3ard and I love, love Dr. Mattar. I am a little over a month out and lost nearly 30 pounds! I am so happy that your app. went so great. The L.R.D. IS not to bad really it is a great way to drop the weight. I weighed 262 when I started the diet and I weighed 213 on the day of surgery. Just keep positive and do not sway off the plan and you will be amazed. If you do not have a good scale, now would be a great time to by one. Weigh yourself the same time once a week. I always weighed myself in the mornings every monday!

 Hi,

I try and weigh every Monday as well.

I am doing OK on LRD - not perfect, but am doing OK with it.  I do feel better all ready.

I am a little nervous - a girl I work with said "oh you are doing going to lose weight the easy way" - didn't really know what to say.

That is great losing 30# so far!  Keep up the good work!

Is this friend at work overweight? If she is than what she is doing is not working very well for her.Just explain that you have tried everything you know how to do and this is a decision that you made and that was not being done because it is easy. If she knew all that you are going to have to go thru, she would know that it is not going to be easy. It is hard work with very big rewards if done right. Tell her it is just a TOOL, and that 80% of the work is going to be done by your willpower, the 20% left over is the TOOL that was given to you. Other than that you really do not owe her anything as far as a explaination. It is your life and you want to live it as healthy as you can. Sorry I vented,I just hate to hear people say such stupid things when they have no idea. I wish you all the best with EVERYTHING!!

Thanks for the support.  She had been doing Weigh****chers, now is doing something where she cut out sugar and red meat.  She has lost weight and is feeling better.  I just can't seem to stick to anything.

Hi ladies. I saw Dr. Mattar and some of his staff on 2/8/10. They were all so great. I have my 2nd appt on 3/10/10. I am so excited to get the ball rolling. I was just wondering how long you had to wait to get your surgery scheduled. I have had my Endoscopy and Sleep Study done and was wondering what comes next. I am hoping to get scheduled by end of May but sooner would be great. I have to lose 24.7 lbs. The last time I weighed was Sunday and I have lost 13 so far. Good luck to you both.

 Hi,

Nice to get to know you both.  I am figuring my surgery will be in June.  Starting liver reduction diet today.  So far so good (of course only about 3-4 hours out - lol).

I was wondering too, if the surgery is ever done before 3 months time, or if that is set in stone.

Thanks!

What type of surgery are you both wanting to have - like I said before I am hoping to get sleeve.
