Do I pitch a fit or what?? Thyroid issues?

Well I had some issues with a medication (at least thats what I blamed the whole time) that caused me to gain 40 lbs in 3 months... I was admitted into the hospital on the 27th and they did labs and my TSH was low but when they rechecked a few days later my TSH was just normal but either my T3 or T4 were off I don't remember...

I've watched my thyroid drop over the past 2 years and my PCP has never thought anything of it... would you demand it  be treated now soo that you can possibly lose again plus to prevent farther gain or what??

if you can afford to, i would ask for a referral to an endocrinologist and let them put the numbers together and see if they are "normal".

I'm getting ready to be shipped off to Evansville hospital for my eating disorder.. Probably have my bed open in the next couple weeks so if I can't get in with an endo by now (which most will have wait lists) then I'll be screwed. :(

Misty, I had problems with my thyroid. They were over actived. The doctor suggest surgery or taking a radiation pill. I took the pill. Had no side effects. I to take synthroid pill now because my thyroid do not work now. Sometime they have to adjust it. If your thyroid are off they will do crazy things to you body. I think I would go do another doctor to have something done. Hope things go good In Evansville. That is my home town. What hospital are you going to? I wish you well.
God Bless, Debbie
