My MIL died...

Found her dead in bed when we went to check on her this afternoon as we usually do.

It's only been 6 months since my FIL passed.  Hubby is doing well right now, but he's going to fall apart later. 

His sisters will be flying in from NYC, NJ, and VA . 

I think she died of a broken heart - she missed my FIL so much.  At least they are together, wherever they are, on Valentine's Day.

If there is anything Bill & I could do for you, just let us know. I am so happy for Wally's Mom today though since she got to go and to be with the love of her life. And to go on Valentine's Day? What a very special love they had on this earth!

Were you close to your MIL? I love mine dearly. Your post made me gasp, because I hadn't thought about losing Susan someday. Your family will be in my prayers.

Christie,  I am so sorry for your loss.  Wally is such a dear sweet man and I know he is hurting.  Please give him a huge hug for me.  If there is anything I can do,  text me or call me.

Thanks everyone.  I love you all.

We have a massive job ahead of us clearing out her apartment.  At least we have till the end of the month to get it done.  Wally's sisters will be arriving on Thursday, so they can help us then, but knowing us, we'll have most of it done by then.

Furniture is old and beat up, so it will go to Goodwill.  She didn't have anything of real value, so thankfully, no sibling fights. 

My poor SIL in VA made her plane reservations and sent me a copy.  I read it last night and realized she made her reservations for March, not February!  I called her immediately and she got on the phone to change it - cost her $280 to change them.  Damn airlines.

We were up till 4 AM.  Hubby's doing ok - we talked and he realizes that Mom is happy now as she went to be with the love of her life on Valentine's Day, which is exactly how she would have wanted it.  Hard to be sad when you think of it that way.

Did your SIL tell the airline why she had to change?  I know they will sometimes waive the change fee for medical reasons with a dr's note.  It seems a death in the family would qualify as well.

So sorry to hear this Christie! Big Hugs coming to you and your hubby! My mother in law passed away October 2008 and to this day when my hubby and I are on a road trip somewhere we both wind up crying....we miss her alot!

My condolences on your loss.  Both of your in laws are in a much better place now, you will see them again. You and your family are in my prayers.
