The only one I ever really liked was Isopure from GNC. I liked the strawberries and cream flavor. Many GNC's will let you exchange with the reciept if you don't like the product.... you would have to ask your local though.

There is a multitude of different proteins on the market. You just have to know what you like and don't like. Some are kinda like a milky base and some mix clear. I know the internet has different sites that have samples that you can try to see what you like before investing in $30-$50 on a canister that will just go to waste. I have found Unjury to be okay for me, the chocolate mixed in milk is like a chocolate milk. The one I have fallen in love with recently is Nectar by Syntrax. You can get it at the Vitamin Shoppe, online, through Bob Crothers at BJ Bariatrics, or through St Vincents. I have only tried 3 of the flavors though. I like the Fuzzy Navel mixed with sugar free orange drink. The chocolate truffle is very good mixed in hot chocolate. And since I am as far out as I am, this morning I made cream of wheat with cocoa in it, (my version of cocowheats) and then mixed my truffle protein and poured over it like I would have used milk for. So I had my 23 grams of protein in my meal. The vanilla bean is also good in my decaf coffee. I can drink any of those flavors straight from my little mixer tumbler. I have also tried a couple of samples from AboutTime.com Those mix relatively clear and was good also. I know Bob at BJBariatrics has some samples for sale also. He does give a discount to bariatric patient. He had surgery about 5-6 years ago. My husband (who has not had bariatric surgery) swears by the protein you can get from the Cutting Edge in the Castleton area. His name is also Bob and he has sample size bottles in there also. This Bob is a body builder and it is a nutrition store and he has really come to enjoy his bariatric patients that frequent his store. He is not open on Sunday though.

 Billie,

Congratulations on your great start!  There is a recent tread on high protein need that you might want to read as various proteins are discussed there.  I have a big fan of Bariatric Eating.com and the proteins that are sold through that site.  The Pure protein, unflavored powder, is great at the early stage as you can add it to broths and soups without any protein taste.  Their Inspire brand is very good and is great for new post-ops as it is high protein for small volumes such as 4 oz.  Also Isopure is a fruity drink that is sometimes tolerated better at the beginning.  Also Fage yogurt is a high protein yogurt that you can add Splenda to and is great tasting and great for you.  Fage can be found at most Krogers in their organic section, Marsh, Fresh Market stores or Trader Joes has a comparable greek yogurt that is good as well.  Believe me not all greek yogurts are created equal so don't write it off unless you have tried these brands.  :)

Best wishes,
Peg

I have found a wonderful website that I have been ordering my protein from it is www.bodybuilders.com.  My favorite is Mocha Cappinino, I also like the mint chocolate (this taste just like the thin mints girl scout cookies). They also have a sample box that you cam order, that is how I got started.

Welcome to the losers bench.

Hugs

Champion Nutrition Chocolate and Banana Scream are wonderful.  You can buy a huge tub that will last forever.  Some GNC's carry them, or you can order them online.  You can order samples from www.vitalady.com so you can try all the flavors to see which you like before you invest in a large tub.  Each scoop has 23g of protein and can be mixed in water or with milk.  I use a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of banana in 10 oz of milk every morning.  I mix with a stick blender but it mixes very easy just by shaking.  I also blend in a banana and 6 ice cubes for frothy, ice cold "almost" shake.  YUM!  So altogether I have a yummy shake for 55g of protein.  (Please keep in mind I'm 2 years out and can drink a lot more than you can. :) )

Edited to add:

You might like the Ricotta Fluff Stuff.  It's very delish and has a lot of protein.  Great for snacking on.  From Val G.'s profile:

Fabulous Ricotta Fluff Stuff
1 large container of ricotta cheese
1 box  SF jello instant cheesecake pudding
dollop or two of sour cream (to taste)
A little bit of milk to lighten it up (about a cup-add last and gradually)

Mix it all up with a stick mixer or regular mixer and enjoy however you want it.  I love it with strawberries!  It's a great fruit dip or just eating straight out of the bowl.

Variation for fluff:  Do whatever flavor of pudding you like and add a little milk to get the texture you like.  Mix, mix, mix until you get the consitency you like.

Warning:  Walmart's ricotta is very grainy in texture and never mixes to anything smooth and creamy.  Tasty, but strange.
The better the ricotta cheese the better the fluff.

I also like to add a little bit of sugar-free cool whip (about a cup.)

Please keep in mind I had the DS so I don't worry about fat, so I use the full fat ricotta, full fat sour cream and half and half instead of milk, but I've heard it still tastes yummy with the lower fat versions.
