Thanks Melissa,  I will try the Nectar.  I love being able to try the samples first.  I have wasted so much money trying to find something I can take!

If you try Isopure, I'd really recommend getting it at GNC (at most malls) and only get 1 or 2 of each flavor. If you don't like it, bring it back to GNC and they'll refund you for them. Personally, I couldn't stand them no matter what I tried. Some people have have frozen it so it'd be like a slushie but that was even a no-go for me.

The manufacture of my favorite drink changed their recipe a year or so ago so they could change the packaging. It sucks now in comparison. I'm not real crazy over powder-based proteins. Those that are ready to drink (RTD) in cartons often have a sludge in the bottom of the carton that makes them gross. I've had the best luck with RTD's that come in glass bottles.

Good luc****il you find something that works for you, try drinking several glasses of skim milk a day. Also choose higher protein foods once your plan allows like seafood.

My favorite is Click.  It's espresso flavored.  I hate coffee, but I love that stuff!  I was addicted to Starbucks Chocolate Banana Vivanno smoothie as a pre op.  Eggface gave me the recipe for a knock off using Click:

1 scoop Click
1 scoop Chocolate protein powder
1 cup milk
1 half banana
1 tsp SF Vanilla Torani syrup (Wal Mart)
handful of ice cubes

Whiz it up in a blender.  It's like a mocha milk shake.  I love it, and it's very filling and high in protein.

I can't stomach Isopure or Nectar.

I have tried the Unjury chicken flavor.  It is quite good, and tastes like chicken soup.

I was really short the last 2 days on my Protein intake and this morning I feel awful.  I am dizzy  and so tired.  Since the roads are so bad here I am taking another day off rather than trying to drive to work.  I ate 2 ounces of tuna this morning.  I will try the milk today rather than water and see what I can manage to get the Protein back up.  I have the unflavored Soy Protein, any ideas what it can be mixed with that can hide it?  I had some in water with Crystal Lite yesterday and could only manage 1 scoop.

I made power pudding with non fat dry milk,a package of sugar free choc. pudding and 2 tablespoons of smuckers natrual peanut butter and between the milk and the p.b. there is a source of yummy protein. I am going to try to the Adkins ready to drink shakes I am hoping that is better than the protein powders I have been trying. I do not think there is to much we can try to totally mask that awful taste. The p.b. I mentioned has 7 grams per 2 tablespoons. I also found a crystal light that is strawberry-banana that has 3 grams of protein per packet. It is a new hunger satisfaction formula. I try to find whatever I can find to have my protein whether it is a huge amount or a small amount. I have not tried greek yougurt yet. I think tofu has alot of protein if you can incorperate it in some way that would be good. I ate 2 oz. of fat-free refried beans for dinner last night.good luck on your protein intake. the farther we get into eating our foods the less we are going to have to worry about the shakes as primary sources. THANK-GOD!

I also had a very hard time with powder protein...I found a new one called 'About time". They have a 2 pack trial size for 1.99 plus free shipping.  I ended up buying a 24 pack of mixed flavors.  I love cinnamon swirl...choc...strawberry and birthday cake flavors...Mix it with 8oz h2o or skim milk.  It has 25 gm protein ,0 fat and o sugars, it is sweetened with Stevia.  Check out the website at www.tryabouttime.com. ENJOY!!!!!  Let me know if you if you all like it.

i am 2 1/2 years out and still do supplement occasionally when I know i am running short for the day. I also have a hard time with some of the protein powders. I also love the nectars. I have fallen in love with fuzzy navel, chocolate truffle, and vanilla bean. I also tried the about time and I liked those also. I had been looking for an isolate protein powder that is 100 cal or less with about 20 plus protein. and these two brands meet that requirement. Both of these mix virtually clear. I alot of times flavor my decaf coffee or hot chocolate with either the vanilla or chocolate. One way I can get my protein and still work on the liquids.

I might be a rare one... but I tried a lot of different protein powders... I kept gagging... I knew it could be an issue going into surgery.... The nut suggested freezing them?  She said it should offset the texture and some of the taste.  I also mixed Chike chocolate in sugar free chocolate pudding.  I pretended it tasted like brownie batter.
I am 3 months out... about 66 pounds down... and will admit I do not do shakes.  I still cannot stomach them.  I tried Isopure and did not like it at all.  Felt like it had an after taste.
I drink a lot of skim milk... It may not be the preferred way... However, has worked!

Pure Protein is a website where you can custom make protein supplements as well!

Thanks for all the great ideas.  I should be able to find someway to get the Protein in with all this information.  I ordered the samples of the Nectar and am going to check out isopure at GNC, also will try the "About Time".  Cannot thank all of you enough.  This was really becoming an issue for me.   I love getting on here and getting in touch with all of you.  It makes this journey so much easier knowing we are all in this together.  Love you all.
