Surgery is one week from today. Woohoo!

Whoohoo!  Had my last visit with the surgeon today and the 2hr nutrition class.  I think I have everything I will need for the first week or two so I'm all set! 

Surgery is one week from today! 

Good luck on your surgery. I had the opportunity to meet Dr Throop last week. He performed my sisters RNY last Monday. I really liked him. You will be in great hands. Jana

WOOT!!  I'm pulling for you -- and hope NOTHING gets in the way with what you've been going through.

Thanks!  I'm feeling really guilty cause I didn't reschedule my surgery to be with my daughter who is having surgery the next day.   

She insisted that I NOT cancel/reschedule and that she would get some friends to help her out but I can't help feeling bad about it.    (Especially since a few people in my family have expressed surprise that I didn't reschedule.)  My husband said he would go down to Georgia to be with her if it was this week, but not next week because he wouldn't consider not being here when I have mine on Monday.  So...  I was hoping they would reschedule hers for this week (and she was trying for that) so my husband could go down this week and come back for me on Sunday...but that hasn't happened.  Why oh why didn't they do it while I was down there last week to help her!!!!!!

As it is now, she is having exploratory surgery (laproscopic) on Tuesday in Georgia to try to figure out why she keeps having stomach pain that they haven't been able to diagnose AND, to top it all off, I hadn't even mentioned that my Dad is having surgery for an abdominal aneurysm on Tuesday as well at Johns Hopkins in Maryland.  Long story but my Dad's surgery was supposed to have been in December and I flew there to be with him.  At the last minute, they had to reschedule cause they didn't have any ICU beds available.  Just found out two weeks ago that it was rescheduled for the 26th and of course my surgery was scheduled for the 25th.  My brother is going to Baltimore to be with Dad this time. 

So next week is a big week for surgeries for my family.  I can't help feeling guilty for continuing with mine under the cir****tances...   I'm just so anxious to get this done and get started with my recovery and weight loss.  My Dad and my daughter both told me to go through with it and not postpone for them.  I just hope I don't regret later not postponing. 

Wow, a big week of surgeries!!!  I am glad you did not reschedule your surgery.  It may seem selfish, but you need this for you!!  Often people put others first on so many occassions, but you are talking your health and your life.  And the beginning of a new life!!!  You will do fantastic and I hope your recovery is as easy and quick as mine was!!  I will be thinking of you!

I know...I know... it's easy to think we should put ourselves first.  It's really hard to DO it. 

Well I am.  And I'm really excited.  Only 6 days!!!
