Anyone interested in getting together? I'm in Newburgh, just outside of Evansville. Just wondering if there was a local group/gathering or if there was any interest in starting one.

I'm not aware of any local groups, other than the monthly support groups at the local hospitals that you're required to attend post op. But I'm all for getting together with some other WLS patients outside the monthly support group meetings.

I do know of one other. A friend from work at MJN told me that she leads a group made up of people from any hospital in Evansville. She sent me the schedule for those meetings. I'll send to you.

The next meeting of the Evansville Weight Loss Support Group is the same day as my surgery so I don't believe I'll make it.

It's Monday, January 25th, 6:30-8:00pm at St Mary's Medical Center basement.

We have post each other before! Yes! I would love to get together with some of you who has gone through WLS! The more we stick togather the more successful we will be!

I have my sugery tomorrow! Soon as I am up and able. I am willing to meet with you!

Hey there Jonna!

I had passed your information on to Linda (she posted on this string above). I think she sent you a friend request as well. We are the only three in our area that I know of right now. We were thinking of getting together soon. She is one month out from surgery and has provided really helpful info to me. With yours tomorrow and mine two weeks from today, we are all pretty close in our experience.

The formal WLS support group I mentioned above, I haven't visited myself yet but plan to in Feb. The one in January is on my surgery date.
