Please keep my sisters in your prayers
My sister Donna is having her RNY next Monday in Evansville. She has many health issues so we are excited for her but very nervous. My sister Karen is still waiting on her transplant status to move along. If Mayo doesn't gert her on the list in the next couple of monts she will be able to transfer to an Indiana hospital. This is due to her insurance and is soo frustrating. Thanks for listening! Jana
Jana,
My prayers are with Donna and Karen.
Is Karen an in-patient at Mayo right now? In Minnesota? I think they are the greatest when it comes to organization and getting their patients through testing. I just wished when I had to go that it could had been somewhere warm..lol. While they have facilities in Arizona and Florida, the Minnesota facility is considered the best in the country for gastric intestinal issues.I hope they are able to get her on the transplant list soon and that a match is found quickly.
My prayers are also with you and the rest of your family.

She is out patient at Minnesota. She is due to go back in March. They are great but she is getting frustrated. They are watching a spot on one of her lungs for cancer for 2 years. That time will be up in March. The doctors here have clearly stated to her and to them that if it was cancer that it would have changed by now. The doctors here feel like she would have already been on the top of the list here. Her insurance will only pay for a transplant at Mayo.It is to her understanding that in April she will be able to go on Medicaid and then can transfer to an area hospital. We hope that the hospitals here will accept Mayo's records at that time and proceed on. We know that Mayo is being extra careful due to their transplant rates being so good but we are so anxious for her to live a somewhat normal life again.
Sending my love and prayers to your whole family, Jana, my dear sister.
