I think it would be great if someone would take over the planning of it, but I don't have access to a place with enough space. Anyone else have a place we could use??

I guess it's kind of unconventional but maybe everyone meet at a restaurant and maybe if in need of or if you have a size to spare post it and there is no necessary shopping?? I don't really know. I would take the time to plan it but I'm literally waiting on a phone call before I have to show up at the hospital, which I've been told could be this week or a month away. :(

I could  come up with the place... possibly my Church or the Y here in Marion.  But I am not sure you all would want to travel that far.

Let me know some opinions.... I would be willing to check into it and host it for this time if needed.

Huge hugz

I am interested in both receiving and bringing clothing (if anyone needs it that big!)  Kokomo or Marion is also fine with me.

It's a lot of fun!  Bring your clothes that no longer fit.  We separate them out on tables or on the pews at the church by sizes.  We usually have everything from 4-5x to size 6, plus shoes, purses, etc.

We all bring a WLS friendly dish to share, and have lunch.  Then, we go "shopping"!  Even folks that have not had surgery yet can come.  Those that have had WLS surgery get to shop first - then after 15 minutes, it is open to all.

Any leftover clothes are donated to the church for the needy, and we usually bring some canned goods to donate to the church pantry in exchange for allowing us to use the church.

We get to meet up, have some fun and fellowship, and take home a bag or two of clothes to boot!  You can even bring protein and things like that, that you've found don't work well for you.

We usually do this about 4 times per year - January, April, July, and October.
