I'm hungry!!
Need to know if anyone else has had this problem? Because PLEASE let me know. I had the Lap Band surgery Nov 20. The first two weeks went great and I was on track with eating and loosing weight. But now I am hungry all the time. I don't get full. I am trying my best to stick with the diet and schedule but its been really hard. I can't see my surgeon until Jan 14th. I feel like I am playing a mental game with myself. Can anyone relate or give suggestions. Thanks a bunch.
I didn't have lap band, but it sounds like you are experiencing head hunger.
They operate on our tummies, not our heads. Stop and think - are you really hungry or is it an emotional reaction? If you think you are hungry, drink a glass of water and wait a half hour. Then, if you are still hungry, have a small meal.
Happens to all of us!

I agree with Christie. Im not a lap bander either but I fight head hunger when I am bored. I took up crocheting early out so I had something to do with my hands so I didn't snack when I watched tv. It was one of my biggest sins prior to surgery.
We have a couple really great lap banders on the board you might want to PM them and they will probably be happy to respond to you.
Leann Baer and Jodi are both experienced lap banders with hearts of gold.
Good luck babe. Hang in there and write it down every time you battle it ... write down whats going on... bored, emotional, sleepy... you will start to see a pattern that you can fight off. It's all a part of the game.
huge hugz!

I am a lapbander... and it can definately be normal. You have to realize that you've had the band placed, but there is no fluid in your band... ( usually) Maeaning you have had NO FILLS yet.... it takes sometimes 3-4 fills before you start feeling restriction..
Hang in there.. it's definately a mental game we play!!!
Just take the time to recover fully, drink your water, eat your protein.. You will get there... but it does take time... I know this is a hard time of year with the holidays too!!! Feel free to contact me anytime to ask any questions.. there are not alot of Lapbanders on the IN board...
COngratulations too!!!! Hang in there

Lapbander here! I am only in week 3 but I have had the same problem. I usually start my day with a protein shake, they seem to fill me up the best. Then if your hungry in between meals try to eat some yogurt or apple sauce, they really hit the spot for me for some reason. I also love SF pudding because it is so thick and I can get choc! I love Taco Bell so I decided to make my own. I had FF refried beans with a smidge of FF cheese and taco sauce. It didn't take much to fill me up and it was so good. Is your doc from St. Francis? Mine is Dr. Clark, thought they were partners. Good Luck, add me as a friend. We can support eachother:)
