Question for RNY post-op approx 250 starting weight

Just curious about how the weight loss went for anyone starting out about where I am....5'3" and 250lbs starting weight.  (I'm pre-op and not much lower than that now.)  I know some people talk about wanting plastic after losing and I know people are different, just curious if anyone close to my size felt the need for it after losing about 100lbs or a bit more.  I admit that the thought of a huge amount of excess skin bothers me.

Well I was 5'1 and 237 when I started (it's pretty close). After losing almost 100 pounds I know that I will have my breasts done, as for tummy, etc I'm not sure yet. It's a decent amount of extra skin that will keep me in a size or two bigger pants than I might really need. Plus, if I'm gonna lose the weight, I want to be proud of the body I have and can't do that with a panni hanging! :) Just my two cents though.

I'm thinking I will be right there with you if I'm blessed enough to lose the weight.  Thanks.

I am 5'5" and started at 288, got down to 265 before surgery.  I now weigh 165 and have been at this weight for about six months.  I had hoped to get to 145 but at this point I am not sure that will happen.  I wear a size 14 from a size 26 so I am in no way complaining.

As far as excess skin goes, yep I have it.  However it is easily hidden with proper undergarments.  I have had a consultation with the plastic surgeon, however plastics are expensive so I am on the fence at this point.  I really don't know if the extra skin bothers me enough to pay the big fee to have it removed.

I started at 262 in Janurary and am now about 180--184.  The Dr told me a couple of weeks ago he thinks I have lost enough and should consider the plastic surgery which would make me lose another 10-15 #.  I am not sure either but I do know I am loving everything except for this roll of skin or fat or whatever that hangs over my waistband.

I have not lost any in about 6 months and have actually gained about 4 pounds since Lyn died in September.  I have got to get back on track and stop grazing.

What undergarments do you recommend Jeannie--I want something that doesn't roll or just pu**** to some other location.  :o)

I know what you mean about the costs.  I'm hoping that I don't feel the need for it but I was just wondering about what the norm was for someone my size.  Thanks!

I stated at 258, now weight 125 and have been maintaining that since March/April of this year.  i went from a size 22/24 to a size 4.  I really dont have much access skin, just not super tight ;)

Check out my profile pics,  wore a 2 piece on vacation and no would have thought twice about it.

I did look at your photos and you look great!  Boy, if I looked like that I'd wear a two piece as well.  You are an inspiration.

Congrats on how well you have done and also on the baby!

I am 5'3" and started at 256lbs and am now down to 130lbs, I do have extra skin on my belly but that is about it.  If I had the money, I would do the tummy tuck, but right now, I can hide it nicely in jeans.  I am 8 months post op so too premature for me to consider plastics yet.
