New to Indiana and new to the forum

My husband and I were transferred to Evansville last summer.  About the same time I decided to finally do something about my health and weight for good and went to an informational meeting about weight loss surgury at St Mary's Bariatric Center.  My last appt prior to submission to BCBS is tomorrow.  I feel kind of disconnected because I haven't made friends here yet and feel kind of alone in this.  So glad for the opportunity to read and see about all of the success stories on here. 

 

Hi and Welcome!  Congrats to you for taking the big step.  Trust me, it is well worth it. 

Pull up a chair, have a seat, and dive right in!  A spot on the loser's bench will be saved with your name on it!

(My surgery was 1 year ago on 12/9/08.  I wore tight size 24 jeans and a 3X top to the hospital.   As of 12/8/09, I am a size 12!!!!)

That's great!  I hope I'm right there with you in a year or so!  (size 12 I mean.) 

Congratulations - I am sure you will be so glad you did it.  I would do it over again in a heartbeat.  When I had surgery in September, I was wearing 26-28 pants and 3X tops.  I am now down to 18-20 pants and 1X tops, and I feel so much better it is unreal  Dr. Throop is wonderful - you will really like him.

Thanks for posting.  I've really wanted to talk to someone again who has already gone through it here.  When I went to the informational  meeting back in August there was someone there who had been through it but my questions were different at that point.  Now I'm so anxious to have it done and can't read enough from those who have already been through it. 

My case is being submitted to insurance today.  Hopefully I'll hear soon!!!

Where did you move from?  Where did you have your surgery??  Just wondering.

I moved from Campbellsville, KY and my surgery was done at NOrton Hospital in Louisville

Oh, thanks.  I was just curious because my husband and I have moved 15 times in the past 33 years.  4 times out of the last 5 years.  I was curious if it was from anywhere we had been but no.  Glad to meet you. 

 

Best of luck to ya!! I would do my RNY again in an instant!! A couple minor set backs but life is good!!
