Good morning....
Good morning friends....
Bill & I had a terrific time in Nashville. It was surprising through the week though that there was hardly anyone else there. Many of the shops were closed which was a disappointment. Then came Black Friday. The stores there really didn't have any specials going on but all of a sudden there were people everywhere! All the stores suddenly opened as well. Unfortunately, that is also the day were came home. We did look (and buy) in a few stores before heading home but we didn't do the whole circuit again.
The countdown is on for me to finalize the Pampered Chef catalog party. I'd appreciate it if everyone's orders were in by tomorrow night so I can finalize it on Monday morning. Please choose the option to have it delivered to your home since I'm having surgery on Dec. 1st and don't know when I'll be able to drive again. The guest special is 20% off of all Simple Addition serveware & dinnerware. Joanna's site is: www.pamperedchef.biz/joannaschmidt and she has me as the hostess. Online, you can pay for it with a credit/debit card. Let me know if you'd like to book a party off of mine too. As most of you know, I'm a huge PC fan and would definately help you out with your sales.
I feel like I'm going to be missing out on so much this holiday season because of the timing of this hernia surgery. It'll be worth it all if they can fix this hernia once and for all. I'll miss the ornament exchange and St. Vincent party. In five years, it'll be the first time I've missed either one. I expect to still be in the hospital for each of them though. And if I'm not, I doubt I'll be able to drive yet. Before/after the St. V's party, those of you who can, please stop by and say hi..ok? I'll have my laptop with me so I'll keep you informed of where I'm at.

Sherri, I will definately try to get up and say hi some time this week. I have to go back to the OB for a check up on Wed (had some contractions last week) so maybe that's when I'll stop by. If not, I'll make sure to come by sometime.
I'm trying to figure out what to do with my Saturday. I am working hard to make Zachary's new room his room and get all his stuff out of the nursery. Can't accomplish that until I get another dresser for his room to hold all his clothes. Then I can really go to work on getting the nursery put together for the baby. After our contraction scare last week, I would rather have it done earlier rather than later!
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Melissa,
It'll be nice seeing you again. Please take it easy with getting ready for the new little guy. We don't want him making his entrance so soon.

I too will be at Hotel St. Vincent but on 86th Street. I have my back surgery at 8 a.m. 12/7 and have minimum stay of 3 days in the hospital. I am so ready! The pain is unbearable. It's been really bad today! I don't do well with anesthesia so I don't wake up well after surgery. My DH's name is Joe and he will be there with me. I'm scared but oh so ready.
I've been praying for you Sherri! Are you going to have the Lovenox shots also? I have to have them while in the hospital but once out I don't. That's a relief but I have to remember to get up and walk, walk, walk some more!
Blessings,
Lois K.
Lois,
I hope all goes well with your back surgery. Between your back and my belly, I think we have those two areas completely covered, huh?
When all of this started with my intestines, they had found two clots (one in leg, one in lung) and had sent me to the Indiana Hemophilia Center. Dr. Greist said that I was to have lovenox after any surgery that would make walking difficult. So..if I were getting my girls done instead, I wouldn't need them. I am assuming that Dr. Cacucci will be sure I'm on them. I was after the last hernia repair attempt in June. As long as I don't have to do another 3 month regiment at home of the injections, I'm fine. Some of the nurses forget though that it is my intestines that I am in the hospital for and jab that needle right into them. Hurts like heck! I'd rather do it myself.
Good luck with the anesthesia this time. I don't have any problem waking up. I just have a hard time getting the IV's started to begin with. Half the time, they put me to sleep with gas so that my veins will relax and them be able to get an IV started. Since I am such a hard stick and since I need to be on a strong antibiotic via IV afterwards, I wouldn't doubt it if I wake up with a pic line.
