6 week post op visit??????????
well....i had my 6 week post op visit with dr jones and the dietician on tuesday....
i am confused!!!
i got mixed signals from both of them and am concerned
the dietician said i was right on track even tho the scales are not moving
to date i have lost 38 lbs (10 of tha****er weight from surgery) and really 28 lbs, but have been losing inches????
now when i saw dr jones after i saw the dietician, she seemed concerned about my slow weight loss and said something about my insulin levels from the food im eating hindering my weight loss. she changed my diet to include pears, berries, MEATLOAF and MEATBALLS!!! the dietician told me it was ok to snack....ive been grabbing a cucumber here and a piece of watermelon there, but im afraid that i may be grazing too much!!!! the confusion!!!!
im kinda freaking out here
my hubby and my mom are like "you need to understand, everyone is different"...well im not stupid!!! I KNOW THAT!!!!
BUT....
if dr jones is concerned...them im concerned!!!
my next appt is the afternoon of the xmas party so i will have a few hours to blow and may need a place to change clothes for the party...can anyone help me out with that????
well sorry for going on...
thanks for listening ya'll!!!

Pam, you're six weeks out...how cool. I know it can be frustrating and confusing but hang in there. Stalls are not fun. About losing inches....I've noticed it seems that when the scales aren't moving that's when I'm going down in sizes in my clothes. I should have kept better measurements of my body but Alisica just never really did. We were about where you are post-op when we started eating berries and such. It was such a welcomed change. As for the meatloaf and meatballs...well, I think those type of meats are more tolerable to my pouch. I've not had any problems with ground beef like I have with chicken and eggs.

shows how different people are.. I couldnt eat beef of anykind for over the first year!! no matter what gravys or sauces I tried to soak it in first.. I could eat Pork and chicken but NO Beef!!
Muscle weighs more than fat.. could you be building muscle.. (the missing inches) working out , exercise and building muscle you havent had.
And then again being a woman you are blessed with monthly water weight gain...
I still wouldnt freak.. you seem to be on track...I remember long stretches when nothing seemed to come off then the next time I looked bamm!! 20 pounds gone.. Make sure you are drinking plent of fluids, getting in your protien and moveing!! Weigh what both the nut and the Dr have said and use your best judgement.. you are right it is YOUR body... we are all different..

PS I live to far from the party to be considered as a place to change.. sorry..

6 wks!!!!!! Yeah Pam girl!!! Congrats and I love doc Jones. Trust in what she says and she is just trying to keep you on track. I HATE stalls! I had one at two weeks and then 4 weeks and many more. I know i was losing because my clothes showed it so i tried not to rely on the scale. One time when I was telling the dietician that I was so low on energy she told me to eat more carbs. ?????? That didn't sound right so when I saw the doc she told me absolutely NOT to increase the carbs. I listen to the doc instead of the nutricianists. They are knowledgable and really sweet people but, that advice was wrong and scary that patients can listen to that. I think doc Jones was going to talk to her because she wasn't happy about that advice I got. She told me to increase my protein and that is what helped me.
