Hi, Has anyone had it fairly easy after surgery? Or is it always just really tough?  Have any of you not had complications?  Thanks!

I am a little less than a month out.  I have had no complications except for trouble getting in my liquids.  I feel pretty good overall.

Stacy I am 15 months out from RNY, and have lost 123 pounds and feel better now than I did when I was in my 20's.  The only complications I have had is a reaction to the pain meds following surgery that had me throwing up and kept me in the hospital a couple extra days.  My step daughter and her family came up for a week when I was 2 weeks out from surgery and I was up to having company so recovery is not too bad.

My biggest complication following surgery is constipation.  I have to admit if I were a bit more proactive on a daily basis it wouldn't bother me as bad, but I am horrible at my routine.  Not a bad trade off for the results I have had.  I would do it all over again in a heartbeat, in fact I would do it all over again once a month if that is what it would take.

I only had tiny problems the first couple years like gettingin all my protien worries.. but the only real problem was a couple years out when they had to go in and straighten my intestine.. it was easy and painless..

You are all so wonderful and kind to share your experiences. I understand from most that it is sooo worth it. I am just left to pray now that I will be approved. I finally feel like there is hope for me and it's such an exciting feeling. God bless you all! Laura
