Dr. Dale Sloan in Fort Wayne?
Hello Indiana, I'm actually from NW Ohio, not far from Fort Wayne. I'm wondering if anyone here has heard anything good or bad about Dr. Dale Sloan with Lutheran Hospital?
Having bariatric surgery has been in the back of my mind for a few years now, but I've recently become more serious about taking the plunge. I'm just starting to educate myself on the procedure. I've read some scary things and some good things, too.
I really enjoyed looking at the before and after pictures here. Wow!

Dale did not do my surgery but I know him personally from church.. we went to church together years ago and he came last year to our homecoming. We talked about his doing WLS and I am confident I would have let him do mine. He is a careing Christian man and I personally woulold trust him!!
If you decide on him tell him Linda from Mooresville says Hi!!

Hey there. I'm from the FW area and as a nurse know Dr. Sloan. I would definatley had let him do my surgery. I know there are people on the boards who have had surgery by him and love him. I think their only issue is that the staff at Lutheran is not educated on how to care for post op WLS patients. That's a huge aspect of it, so if you choose to do it in FW, make sure you and your family are very well educated before hand so that no mistakes are made by the people taking care of you. But as far as Dr. Sloan goes, he's awesome!

I'm from Fort Wayne, but I chose to go to St. Vincents in Carmel for my WLS. I felt they were better educated and had been doing for so much longer. Sure, it's been a pain traveling to Carmel, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. St. Vincents is absolutely the best in preparing you for the surgery. They document everything so well. You know exactly what you can eat afterwards. And I would highly recommend Dr. Cacucci.
