Shop around and remember EVERYTHING IS NEGOTIABLE.  Don't be afraid to ask for a discount.

Not to put a negative on anything but you might want to ask your insurance if any complications happen, will they pay for any of that. I  had several strictures, two ulcers, two perforations, and had to have a revision all within 6 months of my RNY. My insurance picked up the tab (as they did for my RNY as well). If they hadn't, we would have been wiped out financially. When I had my plastics, they only covered the panni portion...but when I had complications, they covered every bit of that too. It's best to ask ahead of time.

I researched many different Dr.'s in Indiana and could not find one that I liked and took self pay patients.  I ended up going to Pennsylvania to see Dr. Peter's to get my done.  I paid around 18,000 all inclusive.  It's a lot of money, but I think in a year I'll be really happy I did.  My follow up is being done by my local Dr. and by Dr. Peter's via Skype.
Blessings,
