Rny more common than lap band?

Hi, It seems more people on here have had rny vs. the lap band.  I'm new here and  I'd like to read some experiences about the lap banding procedure also. Am I in the wrong place? Thanks! Laura

 welcome to obesity help! rny is a lot more common than lapband for a few reasons. 1) rny has been around longer 2) rny has a better success rate. the best piece of surgery related advice i ever got was " make sure you research ALL your options and then make an educated decision".  remember, you want to look at weight loss surgery as something you can be willing to live with for the rest of your life. check out the lapband forum for more info directly related to the band.

also, check out sleeve gastrectomy (the "sleeve").  It's gaining in popularity, and may fit your needs as well.
