a little worried
So here I am 2 weeks out from surgery. I feel pretty good just some waxing and waning of the energy level but otherwise OK. I do have a slight infection of one of my incisions but saw the Doc and am on antibiotcs. The official weight loss at 12 days postop was 12 pounds!
Now for the worried part. For the past 2 days part of the time when I swallow it feels like I have a knot in my chest, kind of like something is stuck and doesn't want to move on. I am eating with my baby spoon, and chewing very thoroughly. Maybe I am trying to eat too much? I am not sure what is going on. Any thoughts?

Vanessa,
It sounds like a stricture in your stoma to me too. Your stoma is where your pouch is connected to your intestines. Over the past 5 years, I've had about 24 endoscopies ('only' 16 or so were due to strictures). Most people..if they have to have 1 endo, they have 1-2 more. Fortunately, there aren't that many people who were frequent fliers with them like myself. You get good drugs and you think you're sleeping...you just don't remember actually being 'awake'. They insert a tube down your throat that has a tiny camera at the end of it so they can look around and be sure it is a stricture. They also check for ulcers, etc while they are looking around. If you have a stricture, they dilate the stoma back open while they are in there (they use a tiny vibrating balloon to do this), Not painful at all. There were only a few times that my throat was sore from the procedure afterwards. I usually just felt so much better than before the endo. Getting it checked out now is better than letting it go. Many people who have strictures can't keep any food or water down and become dehydrated very quickly. If that happens to you in addition to the pain, be sure to tell your surgeon about it.
Good luck...
