Protein!

I am 12 days out from surgery and even though I am still having a bit of nausea here and there I feel great.  I am struggling with protein though.  I can't find anything I like, and my budget can't afford for me to keep trying.  I have tried Isopure, Muscle Milk, Whey Protein, and the chocolate Carnation Instant Breakfast.  Besides the Isopure, I am finding alot of stuff in chocolate, and I really just don't like chocolate.  I need suggestions because eveything I am trying is making me ill.

Thanks y'all!

Have you tried the Nectar protein powders?  You mix them with water, and they are fruit flavored  -  they have cherry, lemonade, fuzzy navel, and several other flavors.

You can sometimes get samples at places.  Check around.  I know that the Women's Boutique at St. V's in Carmel will mix you up a cup to try.  That's a ways away for you, but not too far when you go for your next check up.  Might be worth a shot.

Click is the only one I can handle - it's espresso flavored.  www.drinkclick.com

I hadn't heard of the Nectar  or the CLick ones.  I will be checking them out now.

Stacy, if you decide you like the Nectar flavors, I have a couple of big containers I would sell to you discounted, cause I'm not liking them now that I'm pregnant. I have lemonade and fuzzy navel I think.

Thanks Melissa, I will keep that in mind.  I am going to go buy some tomorrow.  I can't seem to find any place with samples for me to try so I am just going to be out the money of buying yet another protein :-(

Stacy~

I go for what is TOLERABLE!  I know it's different for every person.  Fortunately for me, I was never lactose intolerant, so I did and still drink a lot of milk.  Also, there is a store in Castleton called The Cutting Edge.  They have protein shakes (and samples)...with one shake you get 52 grams of protein.  I actually could tolerate the coffee flavor--and I don't even like coffee.  The guy that owns the shop is very friendly and helpful.  He is actually a body builder and very supportive of people on the WLS journey.  Good luck to you!
