Oh my
Hi Guys,
It seems that we have had so many family crisis that has drove me crazy, and I want a cigarette really bad...
I started smoking when my mother and father divorced when I was 12 years old. Here I am 47 and just stopped smoking on June 26 this year. I was a 3 pack a day smoker (grant you some burnt up while I was doing things)
I stopped smoking because if I am going to risk my life to get a life back why kill my self by smoking. I guess I am still in that want a cigarette. When will this stop! It seems to over whelm me at times. I will get through it but sometimes it helps to talk about it.
Fran - step away from the smokes sweetie! Let me tell you - I was a 2 pack a day smoker. I started at 16. I'm now 54. I quit cold turkey 10/29/08, the day I got the call with my surgery date.
Unfortunately, I had some severe stressors going on with my parents both being put in a nursing home (and being banned from seeing them by my sister) and my father in law passing away. In August, I started smoking again (can't eat, and can't have a margarita - what's a girl to do?). I'm trying to taper off and quit again, but finding it even harder to do this time.
As for the problem with your husband - sounds to me like he's afraid of you losing the weight - that you might not want him anymore. It's a control issue. If you aren't in any support groups, I would definitely suggest it.
Good luck to you, and come here and vent anytime.

Sweetie - that's what we're here for! This is a safe place where you can vent. We've all been here, done that.
Don't be sorry.
