Hello from missing strangers!!!!!!! very long--sorry!
Copied from LW board
Hi to everyone new and old from Joe and Connie. So much has happened this Spring and Summer that I did not take time to read and respond to messages. Will try and bring everyone up to speed.
First of all Joe and I are still drifting along with the weight loss. We should be at goal by now but after you read this you might understand why we are not.
First as most of the older ones know, Joe has been laid off since right before our surgery which means laid off for over 1 year. He did get to work a few weeks about a month or so ago and this started his benefits over.
Then his Mother got very sick and was in the hospital for almost 4 months with us seeing her almost everyday sometimes 2-3 times. June came and her Doc said that he would not release her to her own care which meant--move over because we brought her home with us. Moved Joe's computer room out to garage and then started getting rid of her stuff!!!! What a job....
By the end of July we finally had her apartment emptied but my poor house and garage!!!!!!!!
But it was not meant to be because 2 weeks into August we lost her to a massive heart attack in our living room which means that both our Mothers left the world from our home. I do believe
Joe and I will be moving in the very near future.
If all of this was not enough--if you remember I had to have a pacemaker put in back the end of March. Mother in law and I were one room apart in ICU!! Poor Joe needed a skateboard. They went in 2 days in a row to get it in correctly and THEN I had to have an EGD done and we believe the nurse pulled my bottom lead out by putting an electrice monitoring snap over my scar and popping it into place. (IT HURT!) This was on a Tuesday and I just happened to have a pacemaker ck on Friday and they found it then which meant I got to go BACK into surgery (while we are trying to turn our home into Joe's Mom's home too)
And then for the topper---I got laid off from MY JOB the first of May!!! I believe the mayor let 12 positions go and I was low in the department I was in so---------.
Now you know why I have not had time to get on the board, read, support or any of the things I should have been doing.
As for weight--my PCP does not want me to loose anymore--also my dietician. My surgeon says I could go another 10 to 15 lbs if I would like. As the stress
level is going down we will see how it goes.
Joe also is holding his own and still has about 30 pounds to go but was so hard for him with his Mother here. She thought he should eat so much more so hopefully we will get back in all directions.
I know this was long but I had a couple of people PM me and I just thought this would be the quickest way to respond to everyone.
You have been with us in our thoughts and good wishes.
So, that's us in a nut shell (Really nuts--believe you me!!!!
More later as my eyes are starting to cross!!!!!
Love to you all......
Connie and Joe
