Hi everyone, I have missed you all so much and am so glad to have came on the board and saw this thread!!!
My name is Dawn, I just turned 41 two weeks ago! I had my RNY in Nov of 05. My starting weight was 334 and my lowest was 174, last appt in June I was at 178! I never made it to my personal goal, half of me, but am happy to just be off of my meds and able to enjoy the life that I am living, WOOHOO!
I am married to Mark, 15 years, and have a son Mark Jr. who is going to be 16 in a few days, eeekkk!I also have 3 pets, 1 dog, ROSCOE and 2 cats, BANDIT and ALLI ! I am an ASSISTANT MANAGER for KFC/A & W and started my classes today for my upcoming promotion to an RGM, store manager! I have worked very hard and ALOT of hours to have the success that I have achieved thus far. I started with the company a week before Christmas as an hourly employee and not stopped yet! I am so greatful for this surgery for I would never have been able to withstand all of the walking, standing and hours that I have been doing! What a blessing!
I have met many on this board and been blessed to have had their generosity through some trying times (housefire)! I look forward to meeting many more of you and catching up with those that I have missed! If anyone is ever in the vacinity of the 82nd street KFC/A&W stop in and say hello!
Hope everyone is doing well - I have missed so much!

I'm so glad to see you post! I went in to the KFC this week (was gonna get grilled chicken so we could try it out but got home & discovered they gave me fried) over by our house. I was hoping to see you there. Now I know why I didn't. lol. Are you going to be able to make it to the clothing exchange? Miss seeing you girl!

I am hoping to make it to the exchange! I have training classes scheduled for the next 4 saturdays and those are to finish near 11 and we all know I always get lost going to the exchange, lol but I hope to make it and not miss too much of it!
PS HALIMA asked me about you today at the PP store she is still awaiting her apples, lol! Let me know when you are able, she is willing to pay etc! I know you said for me to get the apples etc, let me know what all I need to pick up that would be a great surprise for her, I have made her wait long enough, lol!
Hope all is going well for you! We need a get together and catch up date, dinner etc! My schedule is still hectic and even when I plan a day off it doesn't always mean I get it and then more times than not when i do I am exhausted! Life of a manager! But I am thankful and loving that I am capable and able, being jobless was no fun, lol!
talk to ya soon! Hugz Dawn

Whenever you & Mark have time to meet for dinner, give us a call. We do great with last minutes 'whatcha doing'? calls. We're not too picky as to where either and since you guys are east-siders too, anywhere over on this side of town is fine. (We are willing to go to other sides of town with a little advance notice & not on a work-nite.) Right now, I'm scheduled off every Friday-Sunday. Work has been a little bit nutty lately though....but we'd sure try to make it.
We just went ahead and ate the chicken (me, I peel the skin off of fried and give Lotus a treat). Every time I see the KFC commercial with those two oriental guys it reminds me that I want to try it. I just love the way they say 'chicken'! LOL!
I would think that it would be better for KFC for your niece to transfer stores and you have the PP one...especially since that store needs good management (no offence to your niece but they need that more than another cashier/line person). Also, given your vision issues, it would be a lot safer for you to have less of a drive. Let me know if you get it and I'll make another try for the grilled chicken.lol.
I can do the apples for Halima whenever. If you go to an orchid, get a 'hard' variety. If you get them at the store...I can't think of the name of the ones I get..their peel isn't a solid red. Don't get red delicious. They are pretty to look at but they don't peel/slice worth a darn on my peeler. Also, don't get the huge ones. Get ones that are ~2" or so...otherwise, they don't fit in my peeler. If I get out & about somewhere today, I'll try to pick some up for you. Was it the plain cinnamon that she liked or the cinnamon with splenda?
huggs...

i was getting my preop testing for my rny in april of this year and had to trade my rny in for open heart surgery, putting off my rny until 09/14/09...my wls saved my life (my 46 y/o brother passed away from a heart attack last june...so this of course scared the chit outta me and my family) before i even had it. it took me 7 years to be able to have my wls...lots of hurdles to get thru.
i recently lost my job of 7 years and am now without work and trying to survive this journey called wls....losing VERY slowly and dealing w. depression....arghhhhhhhhhhh!!!! i hate depression!!!

LOL
I'm Christina and I am 37 years old. I had my surgery with Dr. Gupta December 2008. I'm not sure how much I've exactly lost, but it's around 130lbs. I still have a ways to go. I try not to be so bound to the scale, as my goal is to become "healthier." Sometimes it's frustrating to me to see folks get to their goal weight "so quickly", but then I have to remind myself that everyone's journey is different. I am by no means a weight loss surgery cheerleader, as I feel like it was something that I had to do if I wanted to have any kind of quality life I am beginning to have. As for me, I have had no complications thus far, and I am so grateful for this! I swim at our local YMCA twice per week and I'm just starting to add another exercise morning. I don't know whether to cheer or cry! lol
Personally, I am married to my husband of 11 years this month. Yes, Melissa...I have to say happy anniversary to you too, as we celebrate on the same day. :) At this juncture we have not been blessed with children of our own, however we are hoping this will change sooner than later. In the meantime, we have a very spoiled black lab/retriever mixed dog who believes she is our child. I work a very full time job as a child/family therapist in the town that I reside. I haven't spent too much time here on OH especially lately, however I would like to get back to it because it helps with accountability/staying on track! This surgery has definitely helped my stomach, but it sure hasn't fixed my head! Welcome to all the newbies...glad you are here and taking steps to a healthier lifestyle. Looking forward to getting to know you all a little better! Linda, thanks for the thread!
Hugs!
Christina
Hello
Here I am ready or not. First I would like to say hi to Karen. Karen your the only one on the board that had Dr. Throop as you doctor. What did you think? Did you stay at St. Marys? I am waiting for an appointment to see him for the first time. How may times do you have to see him before surgery?
OK I am 46 years old and live in Evansville Indiana. I just don't know what to think my head is spinning! I have been large most of my life and I am so sick of it. I have tried everything except this. I have no children and my husband and I have a very strange relationship (we will not go into at this time.) I have two rottweilers named Bailey and Bammer. I have one Great Dane named Bogart, and I also have three birds. African Grey (China) Blue Front (Cheek'O) and a Sun Conure (Tudy)...... I love my animals!!!!! I was surprised that there isn't more Evansville People here, but all of us here are good people who can help each other. I will let you all know when I get a date and maybe you can help my with my anxiety levels.
Hugs and Kisses to everyone!!!!! My personal email is
