Getting to know you!
Hi Melissa,
Rebecca is doing pretty well, thanks for asking. She still gets headaches and stomach aches, but they are not as severe. She had a mild breakthrough seizure on Saturday night, but I talked to the neurologist on call and he had me increase her to the twice a day dose a day early to prevent another one. She seems to be fine now.
Don't worry about having to poke her. She's a drama queen and definitely not crazy about needles, but she'll learn to deal with it. She can be very strong when she recognizes that she needs to, it's just getting her to recognize it!
Hope to see you at the clothing exchange.

Oh this is fun!
My name is Chris. I just turned 54 last week... yikes! I had RNY 12/9/08 with Dr. Evanson at St. V's in Carmel. I've not had any problems. I am down 110 pounds as of today. I've still got about 65 to go to get to where I want to be.
I'm married to my best friend (and former co worker) Wally for 11 years now. I have two grown children and 3 grandchildren, ages 15, 13, and soon to be 10.
I work as an Operations Supervisor for the Social Security Administration.
We have 3 cats - Junior - age 12, Harley - age 3, and Dexter - age 2. Dexter is a super long haired Maine Coon. All 3 are my buddies. Harley Davidson is a smart cat - he figured out how to open all our interior doors and does it all the time!

I love this thread!
My name is Jeannie I am 45 years young. My husband Tom and I recently celebrated my 24th wedding anniversary. I brought to our marriage a son and my husband brought a son and daughter, and together we have a son. All this combined has netted us 8 grandchildren. Our son is 15 and is a sophomore at Indian Creek High School, where he is the schools Webmaster and is on the Robotics team. I am also the pround mommy to 3 dogs and 3 cats ..all rescues, my Daisy is from Hurricane Katrina.
I had my RNY July 23, 2008 and have lost 123 pounds, I am 15 -20 pounds shy of my goal weight and have been at this weight for about three months so I am beginning to think this is probably it for me. I look and feel tons better since having my RNY and would not change it for all the tea in china.
I am in training to be a manager for McDonalds...I'm lovin' it!

33 lbs lost prior to surgery!
Forgot to mention a couple of things!
One of our favorite things to do is to go out in our new toy - our RV. Really enjoy going camping and getting away from it all - have a lot of fun camping with Sherri and Bill!
Linda - what a way to celebrate your 21st birthday!! Wow!
Dani - you don't have much longer to go! A little girl - how precious!
Hope to get to see all of you at the clothing exchange.

I don't know if this is meant for newbies also, but I have learned so much from just lurking and reading I figured i should try.
My name is Karen. I am 42 years old. We live in a small town close to Evansville. My husband is a teacher and I am a paralegal (not currently working outside the home). We have 6 children, age 22 (boy), 17 (girl), 15 (boy), 9 (girl), 7 (boy) and our surprise-late-in-life baby boy is 2. He was a preemie and I have been home with him since his birth, but we all love it and it has worked out so well with me being home, we wouldnt change it for the world. I had my RNY on September 28th with Dr. Throop in Evansville. I am doing pretty good - today I ventured out with mom to WalMart and I am so glad I did. It is a challenge to get in the amount of water/protein that I need, but each day it is getting better.
Thank you all so much - reading everybody's posts has been so helpful to me!
