Michelle, I've had several endos (the first for a stricture). Scrambled eggs got stuck, not fun. They ballooned it back open and I was good to go. Demerol and versed are their drugs of choice (and mine too). Let us know how it goes.

Michelle,
I am just a little over 8 weeks post-op and have three strictures (stenosis) to date. The scope procedure is pretty easy at St Vincents in Carmel and the staff is wonderful. They will put you in a private room were they will prep you for the procedure. They will put an IV into your arm and will start giving you fluids. When it is time for the procedure, they will wheel you to the procedure room and put a plastic ring in your mouth that will prevent you from biting down on the scope. Then they will sedate you and you will visit La La Land. About an hour later you will wake up and then they will show you pictures of what they found and explain to you how your procedure went. You will be groggy after the procedure, so make sure you take somebody with you to drive you home. I have found the procedures to be practically painless. I have not even had sore throats afterwards and they do help. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes more than one if your stenosis is being rather difficult. You'll do fine.

I had to have 5 endos, they are pretty simple, painless and you rest better that day then you ever have in your life. I learned to like them,, ha!
You will feel so much better afterwards..sometimes it take a couple so dont be to shocked if you might need a second in another week or so.
Take Care,
Kim
