Excited....but frustrated...

I finally got my insurance approval! YAY!! It's about time since they submitted it August 26th.  I'm really excited about that.  I'm frustrated b/c the insurance lady said it could be 3 weeks before I even get my surgery date scheduled-then we're looking at who knows how long until surgery (she actually said-I'm sure you want to get it done before the end of the year-but I can't guarantee that.)  WHen I had my last appt with Dr. Mattar-they said it would be the end of Ocotober/beginning of November for a surgery date.  Anyone want to share their experience with this office as far as scheduling surgery?  I'm so happy to have made it to this point-but I'm quickly growing frustrated and now I'm just getting mad.  It's like a "hurry up and wait" kind of thing.  Also-the hospital called me and told me that my chest x-rays acidentally got deleted before the radiologist could read them-so now I have to have those re-done (and I don't live close).

my experience is not with dr mattar....my dr was dr jones...
and believe me...
i struggled and tried to have WLS for SEVEN years!!! and i encountered all kinds of roadblocks and other issues....
when you look @ it
it will all be worth, no matter what the wait is....
take this time to educate yourself and really know what you're getting into, go to support groups!!!
it will happen when it's suppose to...just be patient grasshopper...the wait is worth it in the end!!!

They told me it could be two months for my date and it was two WEEKS!  Call Nancy.  She will move you thorugh quickly.  She is awesome like that :)

Thanks, Stacy.  I just can't handle wating three weeks to even hear what my date is going to be-I'm losing my mind.  I've decided to wait a few days (not that I want to lol) just to give Nancy some time to get my info and confirmation that I was approved, etc.  I will probably call her though some time next week.  Just don't want to be a pain in the butt.  I'm hoping she'll call me first that way I won't have to worry about it!  I know they're busy and have a lot of patients...it's just so hard sometimes.

How long did it take from approval to when they called you to give you a date??  Just curious.

Because of my insurance, I didn't have to wait for approval.  I had it from day one.  I had to just jump through the weight loss hoops and I was good to go.  Once I did my presurgery testing, I gave Nancy about 4 business days before I called her, and had my date the day I called her.  Be proactive, Nancy doesn't mind.  Maybe you will get good news going into the weekend.

Thank you SO much for your help!  I didn't have to go thru too much to get approved, either-but it's still been a long road.  Anyway-I did talk to Nancy today and she said they're just waiting to get all my pre-op testing resuts in so she can hand it to the doc so he can give the final ok.  I had my chest xrays re-done today-they should have those Monday-she told me to call her Monday and make sure she has everything and I should have a date by Tuesday-she said they're looking at the 2nd week in October (Cue nerves...now!).
