Maybe I am missing it, but I don't see mashed potatoes on any list....I hear about people eating them and I thought it was kinda early out.  I start puree tomorrow---any chance I will get them??

Mashed potatoes are not on the list, St. V's say you can have a regular baked potato without the skin at months 7-9, so this is also when I had mashed potatoe's.  They would rather you not eat mashed potatoes, they recommend you eat baked.

I spoke to the Nut about this when I went in for my 4 week check up after my revision, because when I had my original RNY I was able to have instant mashed potatoes.  I was told they had to remove them because some of the surgeons are against their patients having instant mashed potatoes.  You may want to check with you surgeons office, but I was told I could have some if I wanted them.

Mashed Potatoes are a white carb.. not really a great choice... but I, a few weeks out was getting bored with my foods and went to Grays and got an order of mashed potatoes and grave had my 2 ounces as a treat and went on with life.. It didnt kill me.. It wasnt a great choice but it didnt kill me...And the taste got me over the boring hump...

They told us that they were on the list at one time but for whatever reason they were removed.  I guess you could always call the Nuts. at St V's and ask.
