I really don't think that the psych eval is a pass / fail thing, it is more like do you need a lil therapy before surgery or not. Don't worry about the psych exam its really nothing at all. To me it was the easiest part of the entire process and I am just as addicted to food as anyone else reading this board.
p.s. I think 1 in 5 is a huge exaggeration. It would be interesting to post the question on the board and see how many of us "failed" our psych exam and had to have a lil therapy beforehand.
I did a six week class on emotional eating after surgery. I highly suggest that everyone do something for themselves during the first year after surgery to help prepare you for life after the "honeymoon" phase. At 15 months out I have days where my addiction to food is a problem for me. I will catch myself throwing something down my throat for absolutely no reason other than "I just happened to see it". Its a struggle and having a smally tummy is not the only answer.
