Consult went well.  Dr. says I am a good candidate for surgery.  The psych eval went well.  Now, I am just waiting on an email from Dr's office telling me what they still need from me or that they submitted it to the insurance company.  Starting the weighting game now.

Like Tom Petty sings;  "the waiting is the hardest part."  It was for me at least.

CONGRATS! Your journey has officially begun! I have my initial consult with Dr.Jones in a couple of weeks at St.VIncents and I'm so excited.  How was the psych evaluation? I'm curious what kind of questions were asked and just generally what to expect...

Thanks.  The psych eval was good.  He asked about the past (childhood), present (current meal plan and family life), and future (how do you plan on succeeding after the surgery).  Just remember that he is there to evaluate you and get you on the right path.  I have watched it myself. This surgery can play havic with your emotions both before and after the surgery.  You need to have a good support system in place.

Only suggestion is to be open and honest.  He is not there to keep you from the surgery, but rather to make it work for you.

Thanks!  A while back I read that 1 in 5 people get denied for WLS from failing psych evals, and the #1 reason they fail is an admittance of food addiction.... So that got me nervous because I would say Im addicted to food! Does anyone have any insight into this??? Anyway, I appreciate the advice, thank you.
