Congratulations Pam!!!!  I'm so glad that you finally got to have your surgery.  I know the waiting is so hard.  Hang in there, things will get better.  You've had a long road to get to this point but you did it.  Way to go!!!!

Hooray!  You made it to the other side!

Sorry you're sick - probably after effects of anesthesia.  Takes a while to get all that out of your system.

Walk and sip!

Pam I was extremely nausiated like that, so much so that even the nausea meds in my IV were not helping.  I started to throw up on day two or three, and it really slowed down my recovery. It took me at least a month to feel half way descent after surgery and I watched my neighbor have surgery a couple months later and was shopping five days after.   I had some blood in my vomit so that also kept me in the hospital for five days, the nurse was scared it was a blood clot and she had me and my hubby so freaked out it wasn't funny.  I think it was just blood from the cut they made to seperate my belly though.

However, it turned out to be a reaction to the pain meds, when they switched me from dilaudid to morphine the nausea went away.  I took only tylenol once I was home for fear of being sick again.  So maybe you can talk to your surgeon about switching your pain meds, although I think some nausea just comes with this type of surgery.  I was on a nausea med for 90 days following surgery and never had any nausea to speak of after I came home.

On the vision thing..yep.  Took magazines with me to the hospital and was too blurry to read them.  I still have days when I can't see right.
