another food question
I wouldn't advise it. Rice is like pasta, and a lot of post ops can't tolerate it. It's too soon to have anything like that. St. V's tells us no rice till 7 months post op, and then only brown rice.
Did you get a food list of allowable items at each stage when you went to your pre op class? Follow your doc's guidelines.

nope, not at all. Do you have the "yellow sheets" (if you had your RNY at St V's)? If it's not listed on there, it's not OK! I didn't eat any bread/carb products til at least 3 months post op, and even now, almost 18 months later, I can't handle much. There's no nutritional value, so I don't mind too much.

NOPE.. NO rice... I watch how rice and noodles( and bread) keep expanding in a cup of water and think.... they do the same thing in my belly... such a waste of room. Always start with your protien... go towards a fruit and veggie then IF you have room left... try some more protien...Your belly will be glad you did.

I have a link where you can find these yellow sheets. Now keep in mind these yellow sheets are there for those St Vincent patients and your doctor may be different so beware and follow your own doctors advise.
