Rhonda,

I've found myself gaining a few pounds too so trust me, I need to follow my own advise that I am about to give you.

PEW

Protein...Be sure you are getting your protein in first and formost. Be sure you are getting in enough protein.

Exercise...Whatever exercise you are doing now, do more and/or do different. Use some different muscles to get the losing to jump start.

Water...Up your water intake. All liquids are not created equal so only count 'water' liquids which have NO carbonation, NO caffiene, and very few calories (Crystal Light yes...protein drinks no). The more you drink, the more you flush the excess fats out of your body. We were taught in Health to drink eight 8 oz glasses. That is 64 oz...minimum. Not maximum.

Your pouch is still there and still able to be used. Put it to use. Begin measuring your foods again. Start tracking your calories, etc (SparkPeople.com, FitDay.com).

Please come and visit here often so that you can get support as you get back on the wagon. We defiantely could use more people on here that are further out!

looks like i popped in on a good day!!!!!!!!  Sherri and i are about twins...date wise....she is as close to anyone i have known date wise with me...i have gained 30 pounds...today was the first day of my back on track....for me i know exactly why i gained...
STRESS was my main factor...
but i stopped eating breakfast....so today i did....and i also stopped exercising....so here i am just got off my ball...my ADD does not allow me 30 mins straight but hey 5 mins here 3 mins there is all i ever was able to do at a time...i hate breakfast always have....always will but i am going to call myself back on track and using my tool....hope to get back on track and with the program....nope i do not hope to i will.....grazing no more....eat it then or no...
But see then i have my husband that can eat a big bag of M&M's a day...he always has his junk...so today is the day i do not even look at him...oh he maintains he is doing great...not even had a trip to the hosp in a year now....(KNOCK ON WOOD)
so i just made scrambled eggs and oatmeal....and he oinked all his gone...twice the amounts i allowed for myself...and i could not finish all of mine...so now off to the bike for however long i can sit still....

Thank you both!! I know it is harder the farther out you get. Unfortunately everyone I know who had bariatric surgery---they are bigger now than when they started...I do not want to go there, and I am not close, but I am inching up. Thanks again. I will be back often!!

I have no idea what you are experiencing as I am still Pre-Op (surgery next Tuesday).  However, I went to my first support group meeting last night at Carmel St. V and there were several people chatting about a similar situation.  The bottom line that came out of the discussion was a) start keeping a food journal again b) start measuring your portions again c) exercise -- either do something different or amp up what you are already doing.  I am by no means an expert of any kind but thought I could throw in what I learned...it sounded like decent advise.  Good luck!

I had my RNY 10/7/04 and also am fighting a regain. I will not consider myself a failure and will never forget my tool. I am down 8 pounds of my regain and have gotten back to the gym. I am taking baby steps. It seems too overwhelming to do it all at once.  We can do this together!

Thanks ladies. I go back to the doc tomorrow, and i will learn my weight. I really need to get back to the basics. I spent 2 years very ill with an unrelated illness, so I have had a tough road. Thanks for the encouragement!!
