Hi there.. thinking about LB and need some advice

Hi everyone, I'm Samantha.  I've been struggling with my weight since I was 5, and now.. while I'll be turning 26 in a week, I have truly realized that it is time.  I have said this before, but it's really the truth now.

I have scheduled an appointment with the Columbus RH Bariatric Center Info Session for tomorrow.  If anyone has some experience with this group I would really appreciate it.  I have Anthem Insurance.

What is the time to approval like, and what steps do I need to go through to be approved?  I'm sure I'll have some after tomorrow's session, but I'd like to have some knowledge before I walk in there.

Hi Samantha! Welcome to the boards and congratulations on taking the first step to a healthier, happier life. We have to acknowledge that it's time to do something before anything can change. I would suggest calling Anthem today and finding out what their requirements are. That way you go into the info session tomorrow knowing if you are going to automatically be required a 6 month physician monitored diet plan, etc. I do not have any experience with that group as I had surgery at St. Vincent, but wish you only the best and come back here often to ask those questions. But call your insurance now, you'll have a much better idea of where to start.

Welcome.  I had the lap band 11 months ago and it has been wonderful for me.  I'm sorry I don't know about the group you're asking about but would be happy to share any info about my experience that I can.
