Today they set Nick's headstone. It is beautiful & a loving tribute to him. We went out to see it as they were finishing it, & talked a minute with the guy who does the carving. Oh, it just brought everything back. We miss him so much, & now will have to tell Amy when I get her up. She is so shattered, & her by polar flairs/manic depression have been so bad. Please be in prayer for us today. It has been 5 months and today it seems like it was just yesturday. He was a beautiful soul, with a huge heart, and is sorely missed by everyone that knew him. We don't ask God"'why", just to draw us closer to His side as we heal.

I am so glad Dana & I are doing the "out of the darkness walk" in honor of him, and all of the families that have been touched by suicide. If we can keep one person from doing it, if we can help others heal, that is what we want. I have emailed a few of our friends & family about sponsorship, & will post more here, if anyone wants to donate or join in the walk.  We are "Walkers for Nicholas Drew Witte-Caldwell" under
www.AFSP.org. if interested, or you can do a donation there. Please don't feel you have to, I am just letting you know how we hope to share in the need for this issue to be addressed. We had never experienced anything so devistating in our lives. For some reason unbeknown to us, God saw his pain & heartache and  caught him, & took him to His side. I believe this with my whole heart. Others live because of his gift of life.
Thank you my dear friends.
Love,Ellen

Bless your heart Ellen... You have had it rough... Suicide is so... final...so pointless and so helpless.. You are doing a good thing with this walk.. Prevention.. education is the answer..

Death of any kind is not easy.. My sisters death was predicted.. we knew it was coming... we tried to slow it down but it came anyway.. she is finally at peace but it doesnt make it any easier for those of us left behind..

Be well my friend be well.

My dear Ellen
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
What a wonderful choice you have made to participate in the out of the darkness walk.  Education is great and it is so important that people feel like they have a choice.
hug and much love
