Worried! Worried! Worried!
Among everything that has been happening here lately, my son is having issues....
Dakota has Gardner's Syndrome and is VERY prone to colon cancer...he was bleeding (ALOT) for nearly two wks. I took him to his specialist @ Riley a week ago yesterday and his dr felt that it was a virus of some sort.
He bleeds even more over the weekend. This prompts me to call his specialist @ Riley this past Monday, they tell me to bring him into the ER @ Riley and we go thru all the BS and then they tell us that Dakota has Ecoli 0157 (the kind that ppl got w./ the spina*****ident a few years ago). They had me keep Dakota out of school and work the entire week, only to find out yesterday that he did NOT have the ecoli they feared, but now don't know why he was bleeding....so now we have to go in for a colonostomy.
Dakota has had reg. colonostomies every 6-12 months ever since he was 10, but this terrifies me as this is the EXACT same scenario and when Dakota's father was diagnosed w/ colon cancer when I was still married to him.....
I am worried out of my mind and trying to convince Dakota that everything is going to be OK....He's not stupid and he's not a "child" per say...he's nearly 19...I am having a difficult time trying to keep a "brave face" for him when I am scared ****le$$ myself....
I would appreciate it if could please keep Dakota in your prayers.
I havent' had time (or the energy to worry about my heart problems or my upcoming WL surgery)....too much to worry about and having a hard time keeping it all together
hugs and much love

I am not going to tell you not to worry... Bleeding is not normal and for a mother NOT to worry goes against nature...
What I am going to tell you is God is in control.. Prayers are going out and you are surrounded by the love of God...Have the faith that when there is nothing WE can do is where God does HIS best work...When we are down to nothing... God is up to something..
Much love....

Oh Pam, I'm sorry you and Dakota are going through this. Please keep us posted and I will keep you both in my prayers!
