tooth issues....

I have been MIA for awhile. I have been fighting a horrble infection in my tooth/jaw/mouth for over a week now. I went to the dentist last monday, root canal. Put on antibiotocs. Worked for about 3 days and boom infection back with a vengious! Called yesterday they called me in different antibiotics and pain killers which I turned down the first time but the pain was bad i was willing to try anything. yeah they made me sick and the pain was still there! Back to tylenol for me. Ist full day on new antibiotic but I know they are not going to beable to finish the RC on monday because of the infection. i know its not gonna be gone by monday.
I am so sorry to Hear the news about Chrisitie and Wallys dad and ms. Gail, your friend Phil. They have gone to be with God. Prayers out to all. I sure do wish I was not in horrble pain so i could communicate better with everyone. I have lost 4 pounds this week not beable to eat. ( which is okay because I had been up 5 from my happy spot so Now I am back down to where I am more comfortable..but at a price.GRRRR)

Pain pills make me . I just can't take them.. I get so sick... I MADE the dentist call me in Liquid Loratab... I mix it in a 2 ounce container with cranberry juice and it goes dowen great and actually eases my pain.. Of course now that I had ALL of my top teeth pulled I just dont have the pain anymore but I Have the loratab to fakll baCK ON WHEN mY KNEES HURT ETC....

i hope you get feeling better and get your tooth taken care of....it's horrible when you have a bad tooth and it makes everything hurt!!!
been dealin w that myself...taking LOTS of pain meds (thank goodness i still had some around)...had to get two pulled wednesday and my entire mouth is one big pain in the @ and my jaw is killing me!!!!
arghhh!!!!!
try to rest sweetie and have you tried an ice pack on your jaw??? it might help....
will be keepin ya in my thoughts for a speedy recovery

Im sorry you are hurting Neil and I both no how that feels he had a root canal and extraction awhile back cause his teeth got bad but boy was he in pain and they gave him ibpurion it helped more than the pain pills.
Right before we went to Chicago i had 3 abcess teeth and omg it hurt  took pain pills and antibiotics and rubbed the whiskey on the gums.
So honey i hope it gets better for you soon it did us.

Shanna I feel for you, I have suffered off and on for all my life with my teeth.  Spent a fortune over the years trying to save them for as long as I can.  The only thing that has ever helped my tooth pain was naproxin.  I know its suppose to be a no no for WLS patients but maybe your surgeon would ok it for a couple days while the antibiotics start working.  I think it would be worth a call and see hon.

I guess what I can't understand is why the antibiotics are not working. I have never had problems before with antibiotics not working. I know we don't absorb things anymore so Am I not absorbing the antibiotics. I am gonna call Dr. Mattar in the morning and I ask what i should do because the dentist is at a loss for words. They have had me on the strongest antibiiotics they can think of and Its not even budging.
