Weigh In Today
Congrats Stacy!!!! Just a forewarning, they won't actually schedule your surgery at that appt, you are basically gonna meet with Dr. Mattar to make sure you have met his requirements (which you have), he will go over your chart in general and then schedule you for preop tests (unless you have done those already) and then everything gets submitted for insurance approval. If your insurance is already approved then they will get you on the books. Takes a week or 2 to do that after all tests and insurance approvals are gotten. So if you have all of the above already done, I think they will call you in about a week with your class dates and your surgery dates. I bet you have a date end of Sept. or in Oct. Congrats!!!!!!!!
Sorry Stacy, and don't get me wrong, he may very well schedule you before your testing is actually completed but I know others who had surgery with him and they had to have all their testing done, insurance cleared and weight loss done before he scheduled them. Part of his checklist. I know me personally, I lost my weight by my 2nd supervised weight loss visit, so I had that done on a Friday, they scheduled my 3rd weight loss visit and my visit with Dr. Mattar all on the same day that Monday (3 days later), at that last visit with him he went over my weight loss and then went down to see what tests he thought I needed to have done (sleep study, xray, bloodwork, etc) and then I saw Nancy who told me they would get my paperwork together for the Insurance company to get that approval, they submitted my paperwork that Friday, I was approved the following Tuesday, got my letter from Insurance that Friday. Clarian North called a couple of days after that last appt with Mattar to schedule me for preop testing, so even though I was approved Feb 6th, my preop testing didn't take place until Feb. 27th and Dr. Mattar's office told me I had to wait approx a week for those results to come in before they could schedule me for surgery to make sure I didn't have anything abnormal that would need to be taken care of before then. Right at a week after the testing was done Nancy called me with my preop class date and my surgery date. All in all, I had surgery 6 weeks after that last visit with Mattar.
Just remember, you've come this far, 6 weeks will be nothing!!! So, did they get you approved with your Insurance Company already? If you did, that is a huge relief lifted. Dr. Mattar told me I would have no trouble getting approved, that Clarian Employees seldom get denied but I was still a nervous wreck til I had that letter in hand stating my approval.
I am happy to answer whatever you need!
