1 week today

Well It has been a week today!  But I started working today and I am exhausted my mom came and helped but I still think I did too much. ( I run a daycare out of my home)  I can't keep up on the fluids and the protein I am just feeling overwhelmed today.  I am still on full liquids and can't for Wednesday when I go to purees.  Today my left side has hurt alot as well and I don't know if it from the nagging cough I have developed or gas or over doing it.  And did I mention my husband is out of town for 2 1/2 weeks as well.  I didn't mean for this to be a gripe fest but I guess that is what it, sorry!

I remember feeling just like you did on my first week. Trying to make sure I got everything in was so overwhelming but keep at it and take heart...it will pass. I think you should err on the side of caution and call your doctor about the cough just to be safe. My left side hurt for about 3 weeks and then stopped. Just take this time to be good to yourself while you are on this journey.

Oh my, day care out of your house at 1 week post op, you're superwoman!! I can't imagine. You're doing great. That abdominal pain is probably from overdoing it. Bad timing for the hubby to be gone, but I'm glad your mom came to help. If the cough continues, get it checked out. You might have some congestion/pneumonia settling in your lungs. Hopefully it's nothing, but you did just have major surgery. Not something to mess around with. Ok, I'll get off my nursing soapbox now! Take care and come here anytime to gripe. That's what we're here for.

You just had major surgery! You might not be ready for work yet. I took 2 weeks off, and then only went 1/2 days for the first week I was back. And I have a desk job!

Take care of yourself, and just do the best you can with fluids and protein and all. You'll make it through this.
