It's wonderful Wednesday!
And guess what? I'm pregnant. I think I just have to keep saying it for it to truly sink in. We are shocked, but thrilled!! After being told for years that there was no possible way for us to conceive naturally (due to my husband's sperm issues), we were shocked to learn that I am in fact pg. We happen to have family get togethers scheduled this coming weekend, and plan to tell both sides then. I could wait to tell my husband's side, but I know I couldn't keep the secret from my mom and I want to tell her in person. We did tell my oldest last night, to give him time to let it sink in before we told everyone else. Actually, I said, "Mom and dad have something we want to tell you." He looked me dead in the eye and said, "Are you pregnant?" Too funny. That kid must be psychic! Anyway, he is excited about it, even though he's afraid he'll now have two whippersnappers beating up on him! LOL
Have a great day everyone!

Congratulations! Do they have you work closely with the dietician to make sure you and the baby are getting what you need? I know you have to be really careful. My mother, while not having had WLS, had Crohn's disease when she was preggers with me. She didn't get enough nutrition, and I drained the calcium from her teeth. Take care of yourself!
I have a long day ahead of me. Both jobs today. It'll be okay though. Keeps me busy. I guess what I'd really like to do today is curl up at home though, and watch some tv. Kind of hide away. That's not an option though.

Congrats again to you Melissa. God gave both of you a miracle baby. You are still beginning your family and....
My baby, Andrew, who is 29, is getting his MBA today. I am so proud of him He has been working toward this for 4 years. He is a graduate of Purdue U (YEAH) but now he lives and works in Mount Pleasant, SC which is near Charleston. This is the first time since he started pre-school at 3 yrs. old that he doesn't have to go to school anymore and no more homework!!!
My oldest son, Matthew, who is 32, is getting his MBA Sept 2. I'm proud of him too. He also graduated from Purdue and lives in Noblesville and works in Indy. He had a couple yrs break from school but then went back to get his MBA.
Am I braggin bout my boys? You bet I am!! !
I have these feelings of nastalgia all around me with many of you getting ready to send your kids back to school right now. I think back to those "school days" and teaching my boys the responsibilities of time schedules, completing their homework AND remembering to turn it in. LOL Sitting in the kitchen and practing spelling words with them, (do they still do that)? Having the front of my refrigerator full of special things that they made or did at school. (BTW I still have many of those things) .
That saying that all of us parents say, "I think it is going in one ear and coming out the other" and "They are NOT listening to me". When they are 29 and 32 like my boys, you will realize that they really WERE listening to you more you realize. It all comes full circle. In a weird way, it kinda made me feel not needed because they were doing homework without my prodding or my help!!! I'd look at their books and assignments even recently and Hey boys, can you help me understand this? They love paybacks on their old ma!! They like to confuse me.
I'm so grateful that God blessed me with being their mom as kids at home, at college, as now as young men.
