Good morning everyone!

Whew! What storms yesterday! They took out part of the grid here at work so some of our parking lots are dark (the one I park in included..of course). They also took out our power at home ~1 pm yesterday and they are still out. I hope they get everything back up & running today! I have things to do to get ready for this weekend!

But..for today...I'm at work and I have a pretty busy day planned. So..you all have a good day!

We got the storms pretty good yesterday too.  I was working when they came rolling in, so my son was home with the grand kids.  It scared me to death to know they were home alone and probably scared.  I tried calling to check on them but of course we had no phones and my son's cell phone had a dead battery (ugh).  So I just left work, we had lost power anyway and it wasn't too long before I was to leave anyway.  The closer I got to home the more tree's I was seeing down, adding to my anxiety.  When I got home there were many trees down and one fell on my neighbors house but the kids we doing fine and not too scared.  I was really proud on my son, he got the kids into the hallway while the storm passed.

We were without power so I called my ex DIL and asked if I could bring the kids home because it can get really dark here at night with no power and the girls get really scared, so not knowing when we might get our lights back on I just thought it was best.  Not to mention all the other things that come with no lights, no water and no way to cook besides the grill.  Our lights did come back on at about 6 last night so I am grateful for that.  I thought I would have to spend all day today cooking up a ton of food that had thawed in the freezer to keep from losing it so whewwww.

Anyway, I am off work today so will work to clean up and organize some of the things that I rearranged to make the kids comfortable while they were here and get my house back in good order.  I am thinking to go to the casino and spend the night in the hotel on Sat with a couple girlfriends, I think I am ready for some adult girl time lol.  I don't gamble but I like to people watch and watch other people throw their money away, for me its too hard to come by to voluntarily give it to some one arm bandit.

Peace and love to you all.

Happy hump day

I spoke with my BIL in Indy yesterday, he is at the Rehab center by Community Hospital (since his heart attack), and he told me that they were without power and they were on backup, and was not expecting there power back on until today.  That is scary because I know he is on oxygen 24/7, not counting everyone else that is on the different machines.

We had some storms come through our area yesterday, but not to bad.  Heavy rains for about 10 minutes or so and that was it.  Raindrop were about the size of a quarter and cold.

I went to the YMCA last night and got a little workout in, I stopped when I started to hurt.  I go back to see Dr Huse next week and hopefully I can add some more weight to my workout.  I got on the leg press last night and 10 lbs was like pushing air.

Got a busy day today, got some homework to do during lunch.  I am so ready to be done with school and I am just now getting started on my Master's degree. I hope I can survive,  I feel so much better when I wasn't in class, less stressed, got more housework/yardwork done.

Thank God so far today I am feeling good, no smells, no upset stomach.

Hugs

I'm home from vacation.  It was awesome.  I went snorkeling!  This is amazing for me since I have been petrified of being in water over my head since I nearly drowned as a child.
I took yesterday off to recuperate and do laundry so I'm back to my normal work schedule today.  I came back to 15 voicemails and I don't know how many e-mails.  Man, I need a vacation from my vacation.

Sherri, yes the storms were horrible. Got to go home from work at 1:30 yesterday. Luckily we were not hit that badly but, we usually are since we live north. Sorry you have to walk in the dark. Hopefully they will get that fixed soon.   Jeannie, what a scare. You should be proud of your son. Sounds like you have a full day planned. Adult girl time? Count me in. woooohooooo.   Peggy, my mother is on oxygen and she has to keep a portable for reasons of power outages. She gets first priority from the electric company because of medical reasons. He probably does too.   We have a tree leaning that is on the neighbors property but right by our drive. If it falls and one did fall on our house right before we bought it, but if it falls it will fall on my son and his girlfriend’s room. Plus the new baby is coming next month and she will be in that room too. We have asked our neighbor about it and still nothing is done. It makes me mad because after yesterday that tree looks like the leaning tower of piza. LOL   Got a go, have a meeting. Take care all

Johnna,

I'm pretty sure legally, even if it's their tree, you can trim back/cut down any part that hangs over on your property, to protect your property.

Its such a tall, skinny tree and my husband said something about getting a cable long enough because the tree will need to be pulled back from how its leaning or when they cut it, it will fall towards us. The neighbor is a good guy but, we just keep saying something and he keeps saying.. yep, yep, gotta get that. LOL  YEP! YEP! I believe its time for a decision. Thanks for your advice.

Good morning all!

I am up and busy this am because I have meetings today at Ivy Tech. I have so much to do and so  little time today! Andrew went back to daycare after two days home with mom because he had a cold so today is my day to get things done.

I finally found a protein powder I can tolerate and get down with no problem...it does make a big difference in the way I feel. I am so happy with this one and thank my mentor Beth for meeting me at GNC and showing me the way! I feel more energetic  and more like my old self now.

I am sorry that you are still without power Sherri. It was a storm of storms. My neighborhood is still cleaning up! Luckily we got the stoplights back on Hwy 41 this morning. Johnna hope the tree gets moved!

Everyone have a great day today and be safe!

Kristie
