first full day home
Hi all. So today was my first full day home. I'm still a bit sore, mainly at the area between the big incision and the drain tube, but I'm feeling pretty good.
Its been hard because my 1 year old doesn't understand why I can't hold him so he is super grumpy. He just hates getting off his schedule.
My husband hasn't slept well in a few days and has entered the phase where he is selfish and mean as hell. So I cleaned up biscuits and gravy that I couldn't eat because he was tired and his back hurt. He's letting the house get messy and I hate it but there's no sense in complaining. I'll just get it later.
I got in all my meds and vitamins today so that was good. No where close to all my liquids though. How long does it take to do that usually?
Well I'm rambling so I'll stop now. Thank goodness for venting on the internet.

Hey girl!!! I have been praying for you and thinking of you. It's great to hear from you! Hang in there, the chores will wait for you , I promise. LOL As for the fluids, just keep trying to get more and more each day. It will get better. Don't let yourself get dehydrated. Remember that your SF Jello and you popsicles count as fluids too. Just remember we are here for you and you can vent by PM to me if you need to. LOL Sometimes it just helps to get things off your chest.
Love on the baby when you can and try not to let the hubby get to ya. He isnt used to being Mommy and Daddy both.
I wish I could hug you softly just now. Welcome to the loser's bench!

Ayreka, please be careful and focus on the fluids. I tried too hard to get the vitamins and meds in and ended up back in the hospital twice for dehydration.
As for the hubby, I'm sure he's scared and worried. His life has just been turned upside down too. He will get over it and it will all be good. Just take it easy and don't do too much just cause he won't.
Vent anytime, we've all been there.

Ayreka, at first it is SO hard to get everything in. The liquids and proteins are the most important right now though. Aim for a little more each day, and before you know it, you'll have your routine down!
The house mess can wait - hubby is doing some adjusting too.
Love on that baby and welcome to the loser's bench!

Glad your home. I agree the housework will wait. I know your glad to be home but, once you get home you want to do normal things and you need to rest a while. Patience is a virtue and husband needs to learn that you need taken care of too. I'm sure he is just wore out too. Take care of you and keep telling the baby that mommy has a booboo. Once you get to losing and feeling better... things will definately go better for you.
Take care

I just want to add my congrats and say ditto to all that has been said. Our loved ones aren't use to doing what we normally handled, so hang in there. I have been praying for you. Get your fluids in the best you can!
