OT- Directions to Indy Airport on a Friday Night......

I need to pick up my son and DIL at the airport on Friday night.  I'm coming from Kokomo.  I know I need to get on 465 W.  If anyone has been to the new airport, please help me.  Can I park nearby??  Don't suggest I do a mapquest cause I already did that, but still want to make sure I know where I'm going.

Please respond here or PM me or call me if you have my number.  Thanks for your help.

Looking forward to seeing Andrew and Kim but it will only be for a few hours.  But I'll get to see them longer in October at my parents 60th wedding anniversary.

thanks,
Kathy

Kathy, I'm not familiar with where Kokomo is. But you need to get on 70West to get the exit for the new airport. Then my best suggestion is to park in the cell phone lot and have them call you when they land. Then you can pull around to the arrival area (which is right outside the baggage claim). It works really well, and you don't have to park in the garage and try to fight people getting back to your car. There are lots of signs and it's not hard to find. The cell phone lot also has signs.

Kathy, take 31 S to 465 W.  Follow that to I-70 West.  It's the second exit after Washington St.

Once you get on I-70 (really just an access feeder right through there), you'll want to keep in the right lane, and you'll see the exit come up for the airport.  From there, follow Melissa's directions!

Thanks you guys for your help.  I will get there just fine.  I'll just give myself extra time since 465 is usually busy on Fridays.

My older son was in K town tonight and stopped by tonight and also told me about the cell phone lot.  That should work out great.

Kathy, my only suggestion, after they call you to tell you they've landed, wait 5 more minutes before leaving the cell phone lot. The security guards don't let you sit and wait if your family members aren't there when you get to the pick up area. You'll find yourself driving around in circles.

I love the new airport is was super super easy to figure out.  I was really nervous but it was a peice of cake....good job indy!!!  You will do just fine Kathy, its easy.  The worst thing that can happen is you go around in a big circle till they get there, for me it was four circles lol.

Thanks Melissa and Jeannie.  I actually was at the new airport in January when I went to Aruba for my son Andrew's wedding.  He's the one I'm picking up tonight.  But I had to park almost 3 miles away in the Park, Ride, & Fly area and was shuttled to the airport.  The new ap is fabulous and I loved it.

Btw, the Park, Ride, Fly service is top notch too.  I went in January and Indiana set record cold temps that week and had lots of snow too.  (Perfect time to be in Aruba soaking up the sun!)  When I flew in to Indy, my car was warmed up for me, they had cleaned every bit of snow off of it, and loaded my bags for me.  My best friend came back to a snow covered car, froze up battery, doors and trunk froze shut, and it was a nightmare for her.  LOL   If you're interested, you can read about my Aruba trip in my profile blog.

Can't wait to see them tonight.  I miss Andrew so much.

Everyone have a great week-end.
