Who's bringing what foods? I don't know what to bring yet and would like to see what everyone else is bringing, so I can vary things up a little. Suggestions??

I didn't know about the clothing exchange.  That is a awesome idea!  Do you have a lot of people that do it?

We've been averaging 60-70 participants each quarter.  It's the only way to survive the financial burden of changing your wardrobe a size or two every few months.

We have one every quarter and there are usually between 35 and 45 people there.  You can bring your spouse and children too.  Everyone is asked to bring a WLS friendly food and the recipe to share.
Clothes should be clean and in good repair so people can wear them.  If you don't have many to bring you can still come and still shop.  Many folks that have reached thier goal don't have a lot to bring any more but they still come and share the day and encourage those that are still on the journey and losing.
Look at the past posts for all the details of this exchange. This is one of the best ways to meet some of the wonderful, caring people from this board.  We jumped in feet first and just showed up at one a couple years ago and we have never regretted it.

Have Fun!!!

That sounds great!  What time?  I have to work 12-6.  Where do you meet?  Does it matter that I didn't get RNY?  I have heard that some people don't care much for people who got other surgeries.  Which I personally think is crazy, because we have the SAME goals to get healthy & loose weight, right?

I'm sorry to hear you work 12-6, it's from 11-3 at a church on the Westside off of Rockville Road. If you work anywhere nearby, you could still stop in for a while. It does not matter if or what kind of surgery you've had. We welcome everyone. I think that everyone does what is best for them and who cares what kind of surgery you've had. You're right, we all have the same goals in the end!! If you can make it before work, drop me a note and I'll get you the name of the church and the address. Can't remember it off the top of my head.

Its a great wAY TO MEET FRIENDS YOU HAVE TALKED TO ON HERE.. The leftover unwanted clothes stay at the church to be given to the needy..

I have to work Sat so will miss the whole thing .. I also workin Plainfield.. at Wally World...

Who cares what kind of surgery you had.. you're getting healthier.. The only requirement for shopping right away is that you have surgery.. non surgery friends have to wait 15 minutes before shopping.. to give the ones who have had surgery first picks..

The curch is easy to find on Bridgport Rd.

That's really good to hear.  Yes, I'm gonna try and stop by before work.  I work in Plainfield so if I can get the name of the church that will be great.  Do you know what sizes people are bringing/needing?  I have some 22s.
