I had emergency surgery for a perforated ulcer last July. I hadn't even known I'd had an ulcer prior to it opening up. Oy did it hurt then!!! The surgery, while I wouldn't say it was fun, what surgery is, was not that bad. It was done lap, and I was back at work (I have a desk job) after a week.

I developed an ulcer earlier this year with severe constant vomiting after my perforation.  I was on TPN for about 8 - 10 weeks before I could  finally consume anything.  I even struggled with water to take medication.  Fortunately, I was able to avoid ulcer surgery but I do understand your concern.  Try and stay strong.

Dr. Gupta is my surgeon too and she will be leaving soon; so we will all be choosing a new dr.  Several people on here have said good things about Dr. Cuccuci.  So trust that things will be fine.  I will definitely add you to the prayer list.
